Hello ladies!

I have a question about the spa for those who have been or are planning spa services. I have the spa menu that lists the various massage's for individuals and couples. It also lists the Golden Suite Packages. The only difference between the Romantic Couple's massage and the Romantic Golden Suites massage (from what I can tell) is the location, price $309 vs $519 and length 50min vs 100min. However, the package talks about Hydrotherapy and the regular 50 minute Romantic Couple's massage does not mention this.

Ideally I would like to schedule a 50 minute romantic couple's massage using our vacation dollars($300 max at spa). I am curious if this treatment includes the hydrotherapy and/or steam before and/or afterwards? Do you receive your masage in the same room?

These seem like obvious questions to me....but I am wondering since the spa menu doesn't spell it out. I can go to a high end the spa here at home...so I don't want to spend my time doing the spa thing if it is not great.

Thanks much!!! It's almost July!!! Two weeks tomorrow till we leave!!!

Just an update....I scheduled an appointment for the 50 minutes couples massage using the Vacation Dollars. It was no problem. The email had this description in it...

SPA INFORMATION:

Our Salon & SPA is located by the golf course at Moon Palace complex. The hotel will provide you transportation for and back every 15 min. from the main motor lobby, by the flags. We recommend you be at the SPA one hour prior your appointment to relax and enjoy our PALACE WATER JOURNEY (sauna, steam room, whirlpool and reflexology area) It is mandatory wear a bathing suit in this area. We will provide you lockers, towels, sandals, bath robe and personal care amenities. This area is separate for ladies and gentlemen. PLEASE ADVISE US IF YOU HAVE ANY IMPORTANT HEALTH CONDITION IN ORDER TO TAKE APPROPRIATE CARE OF YOU!!! The Spa Facilities WATER JOURNEY (sauna, steam room, whirlpool and reflexology area) are only for adults. (18 years old).

I would still love to hear what others have experienced. Thanks!

We're at MP now & having a great time. And Chelle you are very smart to book your spa appointments ahead of time. We arrived yesterday & arranged our spa appointments when we got here, and it was not ideal. First of all it took a long time (especially since there were about 10 of us arranging different packages to use our $300), second we couldn't get appointments until Thursday (which means all of us had to get fit in Thursday & Saturday (since the wedding is taking up most of the day Friday & we leave Sunday). Since everyone (staying the 5-7 nights) gets the $300 credit, the spas are booked solid. I booked my nail appointments and hair/makeup appointments ahead of time but didn't really think about booking massages, etc. because I hadn't had trouble booking those upon arrival the other times I've been to Palace Resorts. I'm afraid my guests that arrived today & are coming later in the week & also leaving Sunday might not be able to use their spa credit since there might not be any available open appointments.

And about hydrotherapy...we took advantage of it last time we were at Aventura Palace & we loved it. It's a nice relaxing start to your massage. I'll definitely be using it before my massages on Thursday & Saturday.

Hello,
How do I go about making my spa reservation in advance? Thanks in advance for your help!

Janelley100 - the differance between the hydrotherpy in a regular couples massage and the Golden Suites couple massage is this:

With a regular couples massage, you each can go to the spa 1 hour before your massage and enjoy seperate hydrotherpy areas (mens and womens). And then at your massage time you will both be taken to the same massage room, with 2 massage tables, for your side by side massage.

With a Golden Suites Couples Massage you are both taken to a special suite where you can both enjoy a private hydrotherapy area together and then that is followed by the couples massage in the same large suite. There are a few more special little extras, but that is the main differance.

When you get through customs there are LOTS of guys waiting to hound you about getting a taxi...however, you would be cheaper booking in advance, especially if there are more than 2 of you...we used Cancun Airport Transportation with Entertainment Plus and can't fault them. I'm sure i've seen other companies on here being recommended a wee bit cheaper as well!

If you decide to go with picking a taxi when your there, or if you use taxi's at all on your trip, arrange a price BEFORE you leave...otherwise they'll likely give you a crazy price.

We used the spa facilities and thought they were excellent...hubby enjoyed them soo much he booked again for the following day!ha we didn't know about go an hour early, so we really only got a half hour before hand, but it was pretty awesome. The couples package in a private suite sounds AMAZING...we just weren't prepared to part with that kinda money for spa treatments...or should i say i wasn't....roles are totally reverse in our relationship...i'm not into massages, whereas hubby likes to get one regularly! i just don't think i relax enough!lol

Evaleen - If your uncle ( a Palace Resort member) is doing the booking for everyone through his membership, then all of the airport transfers are free to all of your guests. After each of them pays for their rooms and have their flights, they can go onto the member site, or have your uncle do it for them, and arrange their tranfer times. They can then print out the transfer confirmation and they must bring it with them to present to the Palace transfer team at the Cancun airport. They are called Traffic and will be wearing red shirts and tan slacks. they will be located outside of the CAncun airport doors.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
