My fiance had his bachlore party last weekend and got BADLY beaten and assaulted by staff members for no reason (we have witnesses). We had to get lawyers..we are going to catch these guys!

Brighter NOTE: We got legally married on Friday !!!!ya for us!! We tried to keep it a secret, but we were too excited to keep it from our friends!!

So NOW back to wedding planning!

Those who have gotten married or who will be getting married...without a MC, but had the speakers and used their IPOD- who announced the bride and groom and things like that.. your first dance etc etc?? Did it seem weird using an IPOD without a DJ/MC?

GOOD LUCK TO ALL =)

Yikes! So sorry to hear what happened on your hubby's bachelor party. Congratulations on getting married though!

That is exactly what I had to do and make them call to verify that my entire group would recieve the promised arrangements without paying. It was a royal pain in the butt but well worth it! Make sure that you have all of your documents with you if they set up a "group meeting time"!

We were gonna get chair bows too but I decided that renting them at the resort was too expensive and buying them and bringing them would be a waste too. I mean, what am I going to do with 40 chair bows? Instead, I am just going to get two of them and have them put it on the bride and groom chairs.
There is a thread on here called "freecycle" that hooks up BTB with brides who have chair bows that they no longer need. So far, it looks like it might be a hit. I guess its along the lines of the starfish passing idea but without the journal.

We brought our own favors, and brought our own chair covers/table runners - had no problem at all. I'm sure i've heard other brides bringing table decor with no problem....think its just down to what you can pack in your case!!

We used the bose ipod dock. We'd planned on doing this all along, then with a week to go, asked for prices for the DJ, however at that stage it was way out our price range.

We didn't have any announcements...the wedding co-ordinator kept everything in time, but didn't make announcements.

I thought the ipod was enough, hubby was wanting it louder.

Hubby spent alot of time of the playlists, we put on our wedsite for guests to request songs and he spent soo much time downloading their requests and getting everything in order. Something to keep in mind is that guests have access to the docking system, and our guests were going up and choosing their own songs. Didn't bother me tbh, but hubby was a bit gutted because of the amount of time he spent on it.

With all this in mind, I'm still glad we didn't go for the DJ. Its alot of money for a few hours when you can do it yourself.

Hi girls...I'm at Le Blanc just now on honeymoon...miss moon palace sooo much...it was all sooo perfect!

Just want to give one piece of advise for any brides-to-be before I get round to doing a review....make a list of all the photos you want and give to your photographer....I read this advise soo much on this site and didn't do it because I had the attitude that the photographer would know what to do....however if you want specific photos, you need to let your photographer know! I completely forgot about a few photos, and am kinda sad about it...although I know my photos are gonna be amazing without them, I wish i'd remembered...just silly ones like when all the men lift the bride up, or when everyone is running into the sea....I thought I'd remember everything because I was soo into the photos...however on the day my mind just went blank!

Just wanted to share my wisdom for any forthcoming brides....get an email sent to your photographer with some bullet points..or get a list printed to give them on the day :)

I agree with you 100% I only got 1 with me and my bridesmaids!! How did that happenhuh.gif I got to caught up in the excitement and wanting everyone to have fun and let them all go and play for the afternoon! Opps.

As for Music- we only wanted 3 songs. 1 to walk into, 1 for sand ceremony and paper signing and 1 to walk out to. They put in their own music to the DVD (best purchase we made!!) and they did a great job.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
