Will it look funny if we plan on having silver and white fabric for the huppa and silver sashes for the chairs..huh.gif I am afraid the green color they have won't look good , plus i feel like green will over power everything.. and they don't seem to have a coral/salmon color fabric..

Or again. I am afraid it won't look good.

Silver and white go with just about anything. I think it will fine.

I booked my trip in 2008 with a TA. So are we receiving the OLD palace passort savings or the new?

I don't know what is the difference, but I am assuming the tours are no longer free??

Please explain the- NEW $15,000 0r $1,500 ?

Some girls were discussing mosquitos and getting married on the beach or having their reception on the beach..

I will let you know how it goes.. My wedding is July 3. It is approaching. We are having a beach ceremony and a reception on the tucan terrace i believe!

I heard about mosquito problems near the golf course..I do not believe people have been complaining about this issue.. Unless i missed something!??!?!
You'll get the new Palace Passport promotion. Everyone arriving after 6/1 gets the new promotion. It's $1,500 per room for those staying 5+ nights & $750 per room for those staying 3 or 4 nights. $300 (or $150 for 3-4 nights) can be used for spa/salon services. That seems to be the only place there is a limit on spending. The dollars can also be used towards golf, upgraded wine, tours, room upgrades, wedding packages, & a lobster dinner. I'm not sure if wedding extras can be paid for with the money or if it can just be used towards a package.

The tours range in price from about $60-$100 for each adult. Chichen Itza & Tulum are the two tours that cost $100 per person. This seems to be a much better promotion than was offered before. Even though the tours have a cost associated with them, $1200 (assuming you use $300 at the spa) should be plenty for 2 people to play golf & go on tours.

When I've been to MP in the summer before, the only place I've had mosquito issues was on the golf course & it was mainly the one time when we played so early that they hadn't sprayed the course for mosquitos. They spray everyday. I'm hoping there won't be mosquitos around the wedding sites, but I am bringing some mosquito spray just in case.

Hope that helps.

i like the color palate! i think the silver will look great. always been a fan of salmon/coral.

im getting the taffeta crinkle "orange coral" sashes and runners for our wedding (from TC factory) with the girls in watermelon dresses (eventhough they are bitching).

i guess im the only one who is bitter that they changed my free tours! it just seems to me that we used to have UNLIMITED tours AND 300 spa credit....now they are limited by a dollar amount. once you use that up, you're done. im just saying.... but anyhoo, life goes on. we aren't doing that many tours anyway. LOL. just playing dev. advocate.

im hoping to be mosquito free too! but just in case, i think im putting the little off wipes in my oot bags. i also heard that the resort has citronella candles. might be worth while to request those in advance to prevent a swarm!

Thanks for your input..

Another question...

For our reception we are having round tables...so we were thinking about doing one table of pink and one table of green...

As for the chairs and the sashes.. we were going to do every other table in pink and every other table in green

every pink table- every other chair w pink sashes
every green table- every other chair w green sashes..

I think it will look good, but I would love opinions...

ALSO- Does anyone know different ways to tie the sashes on the chairs?!!??!

It is not valid on the "travel agent rate" meaning when travel agents go visit the resort they get a special price, it doesn't mean that if you book through a travel agent you do not get it.

Also has anyone had their reception on Terraza Mar? It is a new terrace in the grand section. My WC recommended it but I was nervous b/c the other place that would fit my group is the Lake terrace. The Lake terrace is close to the water and I wanted it close to the beach, but she didn't recommend that to me....any thoughts?
Anything in the Grand Moon section will be absolutely beautiful! It is lit so nicely at nighttime and there are a lot of palm trees etc, and nice potted plants, etc that add a lot to the decor. They also have gorgeous infinity pools in that area so there is still water nearby and you can still see the ocean, you're just not as close to it. You is your coordinator? Mine was Kalena and I LOVED HER!!!! She was the one who recommended the Caribbean Terrace to me and having our reception there was the best decision we made!

I heard that mosquitoes can be a problem. I have provided insect repellant in my OOT bags and I informed my guests that mosquito repellant during the wedding is highly recommended...

I found an an online article about the Moon Palace death of the Survivor producer's wife. Apparently he's now missing somewhere in Mexico and the kids are still with his parents. Now if this doesn't make him a prime suspect, I don't know what will. Here's the link if anyone is interested: Mexico searching for TV producer in wife's death - Yahoo! News

Has anyone hired an outside DJ for their Moon Palace wedding? I want to hire DJ Mania (Carlos I believe is the name) but on top of his fee the hotel is trying to charge me $250 per hour for using their electricity--that's absolutely ridiculous. Has anyone else had this issue?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
