I haven't been to Xcaret last time I was in Cancun in 2008. I heard it's an eco archeological park and that they actually hold cultural performances in there such as Mayan games and dances. I'm planning to go there the day after the wedding. However, I have arranged a group excursion for my guests to Chichen Itza.

Woodsylou- Hey.. I have been on and off strike! I am not that stressed but I have a couple of things to do....

I have to order sand for the sand ceremony- anyone know how much I should buy to fill a photo box?

I have to order sashes for the chairs

I have to order freeze dried flowers

BM dresses are in.. fittings are almost done.. I had them pick their own shoes

GMs clothes are in.. problem sizes are wrong =(

My 2nd fitting is the first week in June

HAIR_ that is my issue..what to doooo.. I was thinking either a side pony tail look or half up half down. I have no pictures though
oh damn. i need to sort out the sand ceremony too, and get sashes for the chairs (but just for the ones when you walk down the aisle, to add a bit of colour.

Did you arrange your group excursion to Chichen Itza through your WC or someone else? Are you going on the free tour included in the Palace Passports promotion? I've always set up our tours when we arrived, but it would be nice to set them up ahead of time if possible since with all the wedding events, there are only a few days we are available for the tours while we're there. Thanks!

Hello everyone...seems like forever since I posted in this thread. Hope everyone's wedding plans are coming along well. Doesn't seem like anyone is in a panic yet....but we seem to have a lot of June & July brides....so the panic may not have set in yet?!? I just realized that in a few days we will be down to 8 weeks. Looking at everyone's list of things to do has reminded me of a few things I forgot (Chair sashes, Sand, Petals, etc.). I thought I was doing good till I had THAT realization! EEEeeeek!!!

How many of you could use a vacation right now? I know I wish I could shimmy on down to Cancun for a weekend right about now. We just moved and I have been looking for a job post-haste. Too many balls to juggle!

Talk to you all later!

I went about a year and a half ago and had SO much fun with FI. There were jaguars, bats, an aquarium, tons of sea turtles, snorkeling through the caves, a delicious buffet, etc.
We went to part of the massive show at the end around 7pm which was a giant amphitheater that was full and it was interesting, but after walking around for the whole day we were exhausted and couldn't finish the show. Played with the tons of Bengal cats hanging out outside the gates before hopping in the taxi tho, lol.

We loved it, I'll probably send a few friends there and maybe my parents for our wedding, but I'd like to do a different tour to experience new things.

Has anyone checked out the Palace Passport Promotion lately? $1,500 Vacation Dollars - Cancun & Riviera Maya

It has changed effective 6/1/2010. Now those staying 5 nights or longer get $1500 (per room) in "Vacation Dollars" that can be used for the tours, golf, spa/salon, etc. ($750/room for 3-4 night stays). Looks like a much better deal than was offered before (especially if you want to play golf or go to the spa). I'm hoping we can use vacation dollars to pay for our wedding day salon appointments (like hair & makeup). Only $300 of the $1500 can be used for salon/spa services, but that would definitely cover my hair & makeup appointments.

It also says you can use the $1500 on the Precious Collection Wedding Packages. I'm not sure exactly what that means. Maybe someone with a more responsive WC could ask for more details on that.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
