I have not been to MP but I have been to Aventura Spa Palace, if the restaurants are similiar (which I would assume they are) I would not recommend the steak house. The steaks were delicious but the sides were not good, the appetizers came out cold and everyone only ate one bite of dessert b/c it was not good. Personally I like the Asian restaurant best, however, I guess it depends on what type of food that you like. If you are able to wait until you get there to decide, you may want to choose based on the ambiance of the restaurant so it can match the mood you want for your wedding dinner.

I'm getting married in less than 8 weeks now!!woooo 2 weeks...you must be sooo excited!!

We aren't doing centrepieces..the roses look gorgeous, but everything is soo expensive at mp, so we've decided to take table runners/chair sashes and thats pretty much the only table deco extras we are doing!

You all ready apart from that lady?

If you happen to have a camera handy when you travel to the resort and you're staying in Nizuc or Sunrise, please snap some Grand photos, time and opportunity permitting. Has anyone gotten any venue info from their WC on the Grand side? I'm assuming that it is beautiful and modern because it's new, but I don't want to leave anything to chance. Thanks in advance, Everyone!!!
I have a few pictures of the pool on the Grand side and one from the rooftop bar. Do you want me to private message you with those? Personally, I loved Grand. We stayed in Sunrise, but I will stay in Grand next time. It is much quieter and with us being there during spring break, it was a nice getaway from the partying crowd.

It sits right alongside the other 2 areas so it is right next to the ocean. The rooms are set back a little further and there are not as many with ocean views, but it appeared that all of the rooms on the 3rd floor would have them. They also have first floor suites with a private pool. The Grand side looks more like an Italian villa than the "caribbean" look of Nizuc and Sunrise. To answer another poster, the golf course and the golf course villas sit back behind all 3 of the other areas.

It would be a distance from the nightlife and the majority of the restaurants, but is ideal if you want a more private feel.

Jodi, do you have pictures of your $60 vases? It's so hard to determine what is needed because your coordinator takes so long to get back to you.

Yeah they are expensive, but when I informed my mom and bridal party that they will have to bring those down too they flipped, LOL!!! I am already making each bridesmaid carry their own real touch bouquet (and threatened under penalty of death if the flowers get ruined or flattened) and I am planning on making them each carry down some mugs, so they were upset about the centerpieces. They said they don't have room and I said well you can carry it on and put it on your lap since it is glass(half joking half serious to see what they would say) not a good reaction, LOL! Maybe they will chip in just so they won't have to sit with them on their laps!!!

Let us know how much the limes are! Does anyone have an updated centerpiece file that they could upload?

If you are looking for an OOT bag for the men, here is a pretty cheap option. I was looking for drawstring backpacks and on oriental trading they were $24.00 per dozen, but thank you so much miznunu2010! I won these off of ebay:

24 Custom Embroidered Tote Bags Bridal Wedding Cinch - eBay (item 380221142289 end time Apr-09-10 09:44:44 PDT)

I ended up winning them for $46, but the embroidery is free! They said they would do a palm tree for .50 cents more a bag! I AM SOO EXCITED! I am going to get "Cancun, 8-9-10" on them. I will post pictures when they come.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
