thanks for the info. i think the lanterns class it up a bit....tiki torches are maybe a bit "beach partaaaaaay" but they do look cool. i doubt they would stay lit anyway.

so do we have to set up all of this way in advance (even table linens....?) or do we do it when we get there?

i know....the reception costs really jack up the price. but my travel agent said that she has fought and got all her other MP brides their free functions if they book enough rooms EVEN if they never had a contract with MP. here is hoping she does it again for me =)

here is the buffet menu she sent me...i think most of it is the same but there are some new things on there like the french and thai...

question:: i emailed my TA about this but wanted to see if yall knew...does it cost any different to stay in a basic room on sunrise vs nizuk vs grand?? where are yall staying and why?

Reallyhuh.gif that's interesting! can you ask her how? my WC just tried and didn't get it, but if other people have got it before i guess she could keep trying! it'd make ALL the differenece! i don't want the free nights or unlimited events, i just want the cocktail reception and private dinner!

oh i'll take a look at those menu's thanks!

i don't know abotu room costs, i've put a request for Nizuk side, just because i'ev heard it's slightly quieter.

Hi Ladies-- My wedding coordinator is amazing- How ever if you have to work with anyone besides your wedding coordintor around here be prepared for a MAJOR battle. Tricia's husband has said that they won't budge on anything- I am a ROYAL bitch when I don't get what I want and I won't settle until I do.

WARNING- the passport to savings pass is only given IF you do the 90 minute timeshare pitch tour- if you want it included get it in writing from your wedding coordinator or if it was promised print off what was agreed to. It was the ONLY way that we got it free, but it took me an hour and a half to prove it.

They do a really great job with the free wedding and I am really happy that I choose that package instead and saved the money. I upgraded to a shell and beachy cake, got the horse and carriage and also added the videographer and my total wedding charges was $595! I brought my own petals and a bouquet from Realistic Silk Wedding Flowers, Natural Touch and Silk Bridal Bouquets (people kept asking to smell my bouquet on the plane and customs stopped me 3 times to inform me no flowers can be brought into mexico or out of mexico, but I didn't have a problem with the freeze dried roses- I didn't mention I had them and since they aren't whole flowers I didn't feel the need to tell them about them. I posted photos on facebook so for you facebook users add me so you can see them (just tell me your user name on here in the message so I know who I am approving!) I will report more soon.

FutureMrsMoulton: You have been such a wealth of information. Thank you sooo much. I am getting married at Sun Palace. I thought the passport savings was standard, 2 years ago it was given to us. We have decided to go with the free ceremony and have a group booking. I hope all goes well. Can't wait to hear (read) more. Have a great time! I am on facebook - I am going to do a friend request! Thanks Again! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
