Hello Ladies. After reading the posts for awhile now I figured I would join in on the fun!! I am getting married at the Moon Palace Resort 05/07/2010. My H2B and I originally planned for a wedding in our area..picked a date (10/23/10), booked a hall, picked the colors and ordered a DJ. After alot of thinking and looking at budgets we decided to change everything and plan a destination wedding. My parents have been to the resort 5 times and they love it! My sister also went their on her honeymoon.

We booked our date back in 10/09 and up until recently have had nothing but a great experience. As of right now, we have almost 40 guests attending..with 5 staying offsite. Although this amount may change either way. We have chosen the Diamond Collection. Without really knowing which was the best to go with at the time we went with this package. My 2 previous WC's were great! Responded almost immediately and had all of my questions answered. I obtained an onsite WC 2 weeks ago and haven't had as much luck getting answers. I am getting a little worried considering the wedding isn't too far off. Thanks for all of the ideas you ladies have posted as I have decided to borrow some.

I look forward to getting to know more about all of your planning experiences and happy we can all share in the same excitement!

Colleen- Don't expect much contact up until the wedding. I hadn't heard from her more than 6 times and then today (we leave tommorrow) we have emailed back and forth 4 times and they are bending over backwards to make arrangements and help me out!! So just relax and I'll give you guys a full review soon (If you look at my last 2 months of posts I have been freaking out and unhappy, but thats all changing and I am feeling really good and confident!)

Well Ladies- Tricia sent me a text they made it to Mexico and are in a nice room at the hotel! I will post when I get back!!!

Welcome Colleen!

FutureMrsMoulton and Tricia: Hope you are having the time of your lives right now =)

slapsappyhappy: I LOVE the lanterns for the reception....How much are they quoting you on that? I also like the tiki torches. Do you correspond directly with zuniga for this info?

asbarret- the lanterns from futuremrseddy's review are around $300 but I want the light up dance floor so I am trying to negotiate a deal. The tiki torches are $10 each and the candle station is $65 each.

I like the lanterns but IDK, I like the tiki torches too but I do not want it to seem like Survivor, lol!!! I want it to be a party party and am just afraid that the lanterns would clash with a light up dance floor. Which goes better tiki torches, lanterns, or different lighting? I need help deciding!!! lol

Attached is the file with the decor prices(very little info), it has the prices for the linen:

Linens from 9usd to 28usd

Overlays from 14usd to 34usd

Chair ribbons 4usd

I have been writing to Lily directly, her email is lily@decocancun.com.I asked about packages but she said that they like to customize so they do not do packages.

Also I got this file with the standard linen colors- white, sky blue, hot pink, and lime green. It says:

These linens are considered standard when a private function is purchased or included under a group contract. The resort has 12 table clothes of each color with the exception of the white linens which can be provided for any amount of guests.

These are based upon the resortâ€s availability

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
