Thank you.. Congrat to u to. How far have u gotten with your planning and the wedding coordinators? Are you happy with the service so far? Do you plan to have your wedding outside?

The only thing I have done is set my date, and get my dress.

I think that was me :) I was given the run around from day 1 . My TA wouldn't include it in her group contract because it's not there offer. Palace Resorts wouldn't it in theirs because the only contract I have with them is the wedding contract. I guess for whatever reasons, some TA's include this in their contract while others do not - I'm not sure why. In any event, after several emails & phone calls back and forth , head office did confirm as long as a group contract is in place, the offers stand. I will be taking my paper trail south with me ...just in case.

Hope this helps.

The TA I spoke told me that my nights would count towards free functions if I booked through her or the resort....guess it just depends which TA you use! Hope it works out for you.....the "unlimited free functions" promotion definitely makes palace resorts appealing!!

If it's any help...we had guests go through our TA who then booked their travel through the resort to ensure we got all our room nights. We did have to sign a group contract with the resort though on top of our wedding contract to qualify for the free perks. But let me tell you...it was SOOO worth it! We had 2 free cocktail hours, a private reception and 2 extra rooms to get ready in the day of the wedding since we didn't stay for the 7 nights and my hubs and I got our rooms free. It saved us literally $$$thousands!!

So esentially we took the Palace rate (which was the best fare we found actually!) and our TA was their to help guests book, answer any questions, look for flights, keep people out of my hair, and she did all the corresponding with the Miami office to make sure everything was settled, in place and all the rooms were in order,etc.....it worked out really well for us.

Sometimes I don't think it's a matter or you getting the run around or conflicting things...you just need one person to clarify it? or a good TA who's worked with Palace resorts before and understands the terms of their contracts??

Good luck, I'd be happy to help where I can!

help! help!
The way I understand it is that you go by the number of days per room. So regardless or not if 3 or 4 people are staying in one room it depends how many days the room is held for.. So if 3 people in a room are all staying 7 nights.. you only get 7 nights and not 21 nights.

Thanks.. I am in the final planning stages and I think I have everything done... (Im at the office and the code is at home for flyboys but I will post it) I have gotten the run around a TON and because of it I pretty much planned my own wedding and will have everything I need... at this point if I could get the horse and carriage on a plane I would just to make sure I don't have to count on the moon for anything. I am hoping that when I get there everything will fall into place and life will be all peace and relaxing! I am being told that I won't be getting my free stuff (fighting for that), but I may fight them for an extra room for my fiance (or me) the night before the wedding since they haven't done anything so far!

I am trying so hard to get organized and make a list and I am having trouble. Any pointers? I am usually so organized.

Quick question

I believe I will be qualifying for the complementary package

Does anyone know how much extra they charge to have sashes or like extra fabric to place behind the white chairs?

Thanks

Hi Woodsylou,

I'm from Birmingham (said without a brummie accent?!)

So far there are 16 booked up, we're hoping to have about 30 people in total. Everyone on here seems to have so much planned I need to up my game! Are all your friends and family booked up now? Once you hit the 35 mark do you have to start thinking about a private reception?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
