Can you explain how you this works? One thing I wondered was if we weren't able to get all the rooms filled, then what happens with the contract? Also, if we had to pay a percentage upfront for the buyout, when guests book, does the money we paid for their room then go toward our own expenses?

Any info you could share would be wonderful!!!

I was wondering this also! We REALLY want to have our wedding there, but since our date is 2 yrs out we won't be sending out invites for a little while so there's no way to tell who will come for sure and who won't. So far, I think there are about 12 of our family members (including us) who we are almost certain will come, but that only adds up to about 7 rooms after dividing couples. That doesn't include any of our extended family or friends tho, and I'm pretty sure within two years we could get enough ppl. I'm wondering when they would have to know tho, and if we didn't come up with enough ppl for the 18 room block could we still do it? Would we just pay the difference or maybe just get the regular rate vs. the wedding rate...?

Oh, also - where did the $1660 per person come from? Did I miss something? Is that including their flight?

Jackie, we'd love all the info you can spare! popcorn.gif

Btw, I emailed Adam about seeing if we could book less than 18 rooms and still have our wedding there. Here's what he said:

Jaime,

Right now it would be hard to book less than the 18 bedrooms this far in advance. As it gets closer it is possible. For instance if you were looking at Nov/Dec 2007 I can work something out with you because we have the availability.

I don’t know if it’ll be every summer because things can change so rapidly so I guess my answer as of right now it will be just for 2008. However if we love the time off and it keeps us fresh as it is intended it will probably be ever year.

Thank you, Adam

I wrote him back and said maybe what we could do is put a deposit down on another hotel (assuming it's not outrageous) and then check back in with him as the time gets closer (yes, we love this place so much we'd be willing to lose a deposit! cheesy.gif). That way we'd have a backup option.

He already wrote back and this is what he said:

Yes normally other hotels only need one nights deposit especially in October

where they will have availability anyway. And thank you for the kid words.

Adam

YAY, maybe this will work out after all!!!!!

OH, BTW - he told me that they are thinking of SHUTTING DOWN during Summers to "refresh"! They are for sure doing it next Summer '08, after the 2nd week in June and if it works well for them they will continue doing so. Just a little FYI.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
