Impossible to save

I think Karma hates me

Every time I find a way to make some extra money for the wedding, something comes up. The latest being that my car was broken into while parked in my apartment's parkade. The F#$kers stole my radio, USB, some CDs, change and the tools from my little tool kit they used to remove the radio. I had just picked up a dog-sitting job and now all that money has gone to fixing the window, not the Honeymoon pot like I wanted!!! Not even that, the window cost more then I was paid, so I am further behind.

Am I the only one who feels this way?? I am almost paranoid about making extra $$ now.

sorry your having such a bad run sad.gif

It seems so unfair, especially since you should be happy about your new job.

Your behind for now, but the job is still going so it wont take you long to get back on top.

Every little crappy thing now will make you appreciate your wedding and honeymoon that little bit more...

OMG I really feel you on this one. but my FI and I have done it to ourselves alotta the time. Over the course of our engagement I've moved in with him seemed like a great way to save. He also let me quit my parttime job (i made alotta $$ but hated the job)... No joke the week after i quit my job we decided to purchase a timeshare... We went for a timeshare mtg for the weekend. On the ride home from getting the timeshare our Bestman called my fi and told him that they had lost their parttime jobs. We went from 4 jobs to 2 jobs in 1 week. Then my car needed to be fixed (big $$ but we couldn't afford a new one so) we got a pitbull which was sick and a costly investment but we love her, pipes burst in the house umm what else oh yea my fi came up with a new expensive hobby like every other month, he needed a new bass guitar (parttime work so mandatory) he needed a new laptop (he's a systems engineer so mandatory) omg soo much stuff has happened to us since we've been planning this wedding that we have to dip into his investments to pay for the wedding.... We really didn't want to have to do that but we really are sticking with our goal of no wedding debt (ie cc bills) after the wedding. We are paying all cash!!!

  • 2 weeks later...

I completely feel your pain!!!!! Same stuff has been happening to us- new (expensive) tires needed for FI car, my car registration is up, we're moving (to save $$) but we need to come up with deposit, first and last mth rent (I know, $$ in the bank- but STILL!) we're traveling home (Denver) for both holidays.... and don't even get me started on Christmas presents!! If it were up to me, I would give everyone a nice card and explain that we are saving for the wedding (that we are paying for ourselves). My family would be totally cool with it, but the gift thing is a really big deal at my FI's family.... so yeah. I wish us ALL the best of luck!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
