I haven't kept up the past few days, but congrats to newlyweds Susie, Julie, and Alison!

Rayanne -- hope things work out. You could always do the legal stuff in AB first; that's what FI and I did, just to make it easier. We got a temporary copy of our certificate for our records, then I'll apply for our own copy when we return from Mexico. It stinks that you even have to worry about this. I wouldn't be thrilled with the FBIL, either.

I'll add my name to the list, too, since it didn't make it on there the first time around:

Susie: Gran Bahia Tulum, Jan. 27-Feb. 11, (wedding Feb. 2)

Julie: Grand Cozumel Jan 31 - Feb 14 (wedding Feb 2)

Alison: Beaches Negril, Feb 4-8 (wedding Feb. 6)

Erica: Catalonia Riv. Maya, Feb 7-14 (wedding Feb. 10)

Shelk: Rui Palaca, Riv. Maya, Feb 7-22 (wedding Feb 15)

Timberly: Dreams, Los Cabos! Feb. 11- Feb. 16, (wedding Feb 14)

Tesia: Occidental Grand Xcaret, Feb. 11-18 (wedding Feb. 16)

Chris: Barcelo, Feb. 13-27, (wedding Feb. 18 )

Krista H: Feb. 14-Feb 28 (wedding Feb 18 )

TeNeil: GBP Tulum Feb 14-21 (wedding Feb 18 )

Breens: Barcelo Tropical, Feb 14 - Feb. 22 (wedding Feb 19)

Rayanne: Gran Bahia Tulum, Feb 21 - Feb 28 (wedding Feb 25)

Tricia: Moon Palace, Feb. 23-Mar. 4 (wedding Feb. 26)

Brooke: Moon Palace, Feb. 24-Mar. 3 (wedding Feb 27)

I'm so excited, only 5 more sleeps until we leave! I picked up my dress on Thursday and I am so happy with it. The seamstress did a fabulous job on the alterations. I also got my hair cut and coloured on Thursday. Last night was the stagette -- woo hoo! I managed to still function today despite the drinking last night, which was good, as I picked up a bunch of little things I needed for Mexico. And a bigger suitcase wink.gif

Back to my tasks for tonight -- finishing our playlist and doing thank-you cards for our vendors.

Teshy-- Sorry we missed you on the list! Thats so great that you were able to pick up your dress and that you are thrilled!

Ok Time for me to Rant-- 1)So you've all heard my bridesmaid drama where she got mad at me for trying to help her and then stopped talking to me until I stop being a bridezilla. I all along knew that the biggest reason for it was her money issues. I just saw on facebook that she is in Las Vegas this weekend!!! WTF?!?!? You don't have money to go to Cancun for one of your formly closest friend's wedding, but 3 weeks before go to Vegas... Lovely

2) We had invited some of my FI's friends to our wedding and the got engaged in December. So they decided to get married in the Mayan Rivera in October and we were super excited for them. My FI says to his friend at my fi's bach party "Dude, Brooke and I are pretty excited that we will be going back to Mexico for you wedding" His friend "Ohhh umm... we were only inviting a limited number of friends" OUCH... so now for the double ouch-- they are right now in the Mayan Rivera to check out their wedding site. REALLY?!? REALLY?? You didn't even know that you were getting married in Dec, you've had an invite to our wedding since Oct-- and instead of planning it so you could go to our wedding and check out your wedding venue... you just book it 3 weeks before! I am so ready to write them off as our friends all together for both senarios. What is all of your input? Am I being a bridezilla or do I have a right to be hurt in the situations?

Oh boy Brooke. Double whammy there. What is wrong with people? First your formerly good friend - what is she thinking? Does she not think you will see this on facebook and that it may hurt your feelings?

Second one...ouch. That is hard telling you they are only inviting a limited number of people, but I guess it is their day. But to go down and do a site inspection 3 weeks before your wedding. That is kinda...rude. That just isn't the right word. Even if they could not afford to go to your resort they could have talked to you and tried to make arrangements to come for the day.

I don't think you are being a bridezilla. I am not usually a selfish person but I think this is the one day in our lives we can be a bit selfish and expect a bit more from people. Maybe that is the problem....counting on some people we think of as friends just leads to disappointment. Try to ignore them and don't let this spoil your day.....and it is probably a bit mean, but odds are what goes around comes around...maybe in 6 months someone will treat them just as well and they will see how it feels. Small petty consolation...

We are all going to have our days and they will be wonderful - without any of these people that are making us all crazy. Like we all keep telling each other - do not let them ruin this for you at all. They don't want to come - their loss.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
