Brooke -- beautiful ceremony! It definitely got me all teary!

I've been thinking about when to book my hair cut/colouring and mani/pedi; I'll likely do my hair 2 weeks before my actual wedding day, so the first week of Feb. I'm thinking about getting my mani/pedi the day before we leave to help me relax, but I could also see myself getting distracted with thoughts of "do I have everything packed?" so it might not be so relaxing. I want to definitely get my mani done before I leave, because I'm not sure if I trust getting it done at the salon at the resort. But, I'd want to get my mani done right before I leave, since our wedding day is toward the end of our stay...

I think FI and I have decided to go with the wedding band that matches my e-ring, even though it's more than we wanted to pay. FI has said several times "I want you to have a nice ring". We can afford it, even though we're also trying to save up for other purchases in the near future...

Gotta go take my Christmas tree down. I'm way behind the rest of you girls. Happy Saturday!

What kind of gifts are you guys getting your parents? Are you getting your FMIL a gift? At our weddings all of the aunts get together and make Italian Cookies for our cookie table and I can't for the life of me think of a gift. My cousin who got married last year gave all of them aprons that said "And on the 8th day God created Italian Cookies" and they all thought that was the best thing ever. I'm feeling some pressure to get them something unique. :)

Got a bunch of stuff done today! Dragged the FI to the mall, lol *it almost didn't happen. Let's say someone has a baaaad attitude. So I simply said "if staying home and playing video games is more important than your wedding, than so be it". That got him moving. wink.gif Anyway, so we got his pants hemmed (and three others). We also bought his ring. It's really nice. Good thing we went this weekend too because they have to order it in in his size which will take three weeks.

Now we need to get him some sandals which are going to have to be ordered online because there is nothing in the stores. He has a dental appt. this Thursday (sparkling white teeth are a must!) and I have my first dress fitting this Thursday too. I left it as late as I could. Was hoping I'd drop a few more pounds. In the end I have changed the shape of my body somewhat so hopefully it will be noticeable when wearing my dress. I have a decent figure but I have large hips and my small waist I feel accentuates it. So I am a little self-conscious about my hips. sad.gif I suppose we all have our insecurities. Lot's of side poses! lol

We are doing a legal ceremony so I wasn't even thinking of writing the vows... I hope that will be ok. Brooke, your ceremony will be tear-jerking wink.gif

Things left to do...

-book manicure

-haircuts

-buy extra suitcase

-FI shoes

-playlist for reception

-oh and everything to do with the actual wedding! I haven't heard from my wedding coordinator in over a month. She hasn't ever sent me the menu, flower choices, ANYTHING. Getting a little pissed.

Brooke good job! We used the sand ceremony with our parents as part of it too. You are right, that thread was such a help in putting it all together.

Susie...18 days. Wow and how exciting! It will go smoothly:)

Teshy....I am glad you are getting the matching ring to your set. You will have them for the rest of your life, so it is important that you love them.

Timberly - hope you have had a wonderful day being pampered!

I am getting my hair done in two weeks and then about 10 days before we go my hairdresser has me coming in with a couple of my friends. She is going to do my hair and show them how to do it so they can help me on the big day. I am having a pedi with my MOH next Friday so we can just hang out and catch up with everything and go over the list and then I will have one a couple days before we take off. I am hoping to leave the big manicure till two days before we go.....I am hoping to be packed and ready to go at that point so I won't have to worry about breaking them!

Talking about all this stuff is starting to make it seem like time is really starting to fly by! Oy....I can't be at work - I need to be home working on stuff!!! LOL

Tricia- I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the shoes you have been looking for. I have my heart set on wearing fuschia open toe heels, but can't find anything anywhere. I might have to consider getting a pair dyed too.

Brooke-thanks for the canadian zappos link! Cute shoes....i found a pair that I love....only $457..haha bit out of my range

Happy Saturday girls!! I just got back from hanging out at a friends' place, and we had some homemade wine...feeling good! :) LOL...

We can definitely do the meet up at my wedding!!! That is if you guys want to! I'm up for it!! :) I'll make sure to warn the FI beforehand so he knows what's going on....otherwise he might be like....who are these peoplehuh.gif? LOL! Although everytime he sees me on the laptop now, he says Feb brides? me: Yup! smile29.gif

Teneil - I'm sorry that happened to you but good job for laughing through it! That wouldn't be something I could easily handle! You've got grace under pressure girl!

Brooke - I love your ceremony! It's so moving and makes me cry! I especially love the hands part. I'm doing a legal ceremony so not sure if I can include that or not, but I want to for sure! When I asked my WC if I could write my own ceremony stuff, she said for the legal ceremony you can write your own vows....so I'm not sure that I can do the hand ceremony, but I may try to sneak it into my own personal vows somehow..

Susie - I'm jealous...senior member that's awesome!!

Tricia I love those shoes too and would love a pair like that! I just love the style - they don't even have to be two different colors. It's hard to find beautiful shoes like that where I live. I may have to order online. Yay for having your rings back. I'm not looking forward to that, as mine will be a custom made wedding band as well, so I'll have to part with my ering for at least a few weeks. sad.gif

Teshy I'm glad you are getting the ring you want! :) Oh and I still have my christmas decos up too...lol...I gotta work on that this weekend!

Svetayasofiya - good work!! Keep going strong!!

Raykel - dont you just hate how work gets in the way of wedding planning LOL!!! We should petition for wedding leave (like maternity leave) LOL! One whole year to plan your wedding heck even six months with no work would be great! smile29.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
