We picked 3pm for the cermony, we are only doing renewal of vows ceremony since we are getting married beforehand. My FI and I will be staying apart the night before the wedding and I won't see him till the ceremony but it will totally be worth it.

After the ceremony is done we will get our pictures taken while our guests enjoy cocktail hour on the beach with a mariachi band. After that we will head to a restaurant (not sure what one yet) and eat dinner. Then the party animals will head to the disco and dance the night away. We are letting our guests decide what they want to do. I just wanted them at the cermony and dinner but I have a feeling all of them will follow us to the disco for a while. :) It will be low key, just what we wanted!

Tricia-I LOVE the veil and think it will look beautiful on the beach.

Timberley-I would be very sour if someone proposed at my wedding.....i think that you are smart by suggesting a different setting to him....hopefully he will fall for it and keep his lips sealed on your wedding day.

Great idea having the blue rhinestones on the bottom of your shoes......where did you ladies purchase them??

You should consider having a small privately owned place make your band. We were quoted a high price too for my band and then went to a mom and pop place and they quoted us 1/2 of what the other place did!
I'm planning on wearing my dress to the disco -- I want to get my money's worth out of it. We are renting the disco out before it opens to the rest of the resort guests for the night, so I don't have to worry about it being too crowded, sticky floor, etc. I just have to dance in that dress -- I've always dreamed of that!

A custom wedding ring would be nice, but I don't think it would be done in time for our wedding (I've been told multiple times that custom jobs usually take 6 weeks, and we leave in 5). We got a deal on the engagement ring, since it was sold to us by a friend of a friend, and they're willing to do a deal on the wedding ring, but it's still more than I was hoping to pay. Sigh...

By "my dress" of course I mean my wedding dress, in case that wasn't obvious.
Just had my first fitting tonight and I grinned like an idiot when I tried it on tonight. Love it!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
