I'm not doing anything very traditional, but keep thinking about this old saying.
Anyway, one of my close gf's called tonight and asked if there was anything from her wedding that I want to borrow......hell ya......so I'm now wearing a really great flower hairpiece that she wore.
Now for something old.....hmmmm
I ordered an hankie from an etsy seller that has our names, wedding date and place written in blue, I will also fashion blue crystals into the words "I do" on the bottom of my red bottom shoes, for somthing old..my parents have been married for 38 years for their 37th anniversary he brought her a new set of rings so I am going to have her wedding rings sewn into my dress for good luck and for something old. I would love to borrow a hair flower, but I will borrow something from one of my friends to have on that day.

Well girls, my cousin just called me up to confirm that he and his girlfriend of 11 years (on and off) are indeed coming to the wedding AND he asked if he could propose to her during the stayshitfan.gif Please help me, but for 2 minutes I was jumping up and down saying hooray, she will be so surprised. Then after those moments of bliss I said "all the hard work i put into this day, and he is gonna take some of my thunder and shine away by dropping on one knee?!? HELL NO! he better do that ISH in his room!! lol NOT AT MY RECEPTION!!!" My question is .....am I being selfish?.. come on family.. I can take it. Give it to me straight!

I would love for someone to get engaged at my wedding. It would feel like I helped to inspire the romance in another couples wedding. Maybe you can ask him to do it the day right before they leave or the morning after your wedding so that way it doesn't take away from you.

TeNeil- I am also doing the something old, ect. I am doing my great grandmothers wedding band for something old, something new my dress, something borrowed a great piece of jewelry and something blue will be my sapphire ring I never take off.

Ali- I'm on my way.... make room on the couch!! lol

Susie- I love the staging aspect of our business. I do the same the thing when we list houses I volunteer to help them stage it for a cost.

Well ladies I just had the CRAPPIEST day of my life in years. I was in the hospital today getting 2 quarts of saline and 3 anti nausea meds pumped into my body because I couldn't keep anything in my body for 12 hours straight. They think it is either a bad internal viral infection or food posioning. Lucky me! Fortunatly I have a guy friend who lives here in Maine and I was at his house so he took me to the hospital and let me stay at his house so I wouldn't have to be alone in a hotel room and sick as a dog. Thank god for good friends.

Hello again Ladies...

What kind of centerpieces are you bringing? I was thinking a glass bowl with sand and seashells with a candle in the middle... any other ideas?

vdaybride your a night owl like me.. and I dont think your being selfish it is YOUR day! I think your cousin should wait either before you have your wedding or after you have your wedding...not at your wedding at all.. I could

see if you were having a family/friends dinner... and he wanted to pop it while everyone is there...but not on your special day...that is so not nice!

I told him I didn't mind, I even said that I would help him plan it, BUT it needs to be the day before or the day after my wedding. I mentioned that he could do it at midnight the day before my wedding so that her day would still be Valentines Day and she would be extra giddy at my wedding lol. Chris does NOT want him to propose at any of the wedding day events. My cousin understood.

Making myself go to sleep!! Goodnight my sweets!!

I think "ME" if my FI did a proposal on the tails of another brides day, I'd slap him silly... I think you need to tell him he needs to take her to the beach or do a romantic beach dinner of something special to make it look like he put a hell of alot of thought in this and not just, "hell I am here and it works, it easy"!!!!
You call him and tell him he needs to have a good plan and it better look "PLANNED". And not an opportunity for him to have attention from the friends and family around for your wedding. Sue's 2centssmile03.gif

K, This is gonna be quick, another busy day at work!

Vday bride: I would be pissed plaine and simple. I don't think it's fair, he's being selfish. The focus should be on you two and only you two. My FI's uncle got engaged last summer... so my FFIL has been joking about them having a wedding the same week. Not funny. Plan your own wedding. Don't ride in on the coattails of mine. Grrr

Brooke: I am sorry to hear you are so sick! Hope you feel better soon!

Guys- I am starting to SERIOUSLY worry about the weather. It is horrible down there right now. AND, when I was home for Christmas, my parents kept talking about how horrible their weather was when they were there in Feb. last year. :s I want sun and hot hot hot...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
