Oh boy...the girls have asked me to come up with a guest list for a shower later in January. So I went through the guest list and ended up with 60 people! So I edited that list and I am still over 40....um isn't that crazy! I was thinking it should be about 20, but with the amount of close family and friends my FI and I have collected over the years (some of us have been friends since we were 5 years old) how the heck to I narrow that list down and not hurt people's feelings? How many people did you guys have at your showers?

I am not having a shower, I have asked that there not be one.. However in your case why do you need to limit who is invited? I think you should ask who you want and who you know that would love the opportunity to wish you well. I grew up with showers being something that is was an honor to be invited and people thought they were special to have the opportunity to wish a bride well in her new life . I first wedding I had a shower hosted by my ex sister inlaw there was 150 people... I was blown away....

Have you considered having separate ones for different groups...ex: friends and family at different ones. The only problem I see with that many is that it could be a little overwhelming for the person throwing it. My friend recently offered to throw a baby shower for another one of our friends and the list she gave had 65 people! After a minor panic attack she decided to recruit a couple of us to help her with it. With three of us it was no big deal, but if there's only one or two people it could get kind of pricey for food, drinks, decorations, ect. If there's several girls go for it!

That is what my mom suggested too....having two, even on the same weekend with mostly friends at one and then family at a second....I am going to talk to the FMIL and get some suggestions from her on who to invite from their side. She may think I am inviting more from their side than I need to as well.

If we did invite everyone on the same day where on earth would we have it? My mom has suggested the community hall, but then it just seems so much bigger and I am worried about it costing the girls a ton of cash.

I have a few more days to come up with the guest list, so I will keep playing with it.....It would be nice to ask them all....It was the same when I was growing up Susie....when mom got invited to one she always asked if I could come because it was such a big deal to be included and get to have a "girls event" before the wedding.

Morning lovely ladies,

It is -22 here this morning and a couple inches of snow. I have to head out shortly for work... brrrrrrrrrrrrr

Shells I leave in 29 days the 27th of Jan. Getting a little hysterical is the only words i can use to discribe my excitement. -22 temperatures does have a way of making this feeling intensify.... Oh my brother is booking today "ALONE"...

Have a great day ladies....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
