Ah what the hell!!! 3 posts in a roll from the wind bag.lol

Thanks ladies, I am loving my dress again... I wasn't myself on Monday and was totally freaking out over nothing.

FI is away for four night bummer, time to hang out with my chickies.....

PS thought I run this by you gals... I need some input..

My resort the Gran Bahia Principe Tulum is forcing me to pay $380 dollars for a DJ to play music for 22 people... I want to just bring my own Ipod and speakers and not spend that money. They are refusing to allow me to do this. I think $380 dollars for 2 hours is nuts.... Oh and by-the-way she did say I could give my ipod to the DJ and have him play my songs.... damn what a great job 190.00 a hour to push play. what are your thoughts... i am totally fighting for this one

dude that sux. My resort has the option of hiring a DJ (Which I think cost more than you were quoted) or we are allowed to use their sound system with CD's or by plugging in our ipod. So needless to say we are going the ipod route.
Fight for it Susie! Weddings are such a money grab for these places. I am stressing over tips now. It's something I hadn't even thought of but apparently everyone expects a tip! censored.gif

Susie- First, I would also do a search of "ipod" and "Riviera Maya/ Gran Bahia Principe Tulum" to see if anyone else at the same resort has any experience with this... then, I say fight for it... you are bringing them a lot of business...

Ive read mixed reviews re ipod vs dj... some people loved their ipods, some people felt like they had to keep monitoring it, or that other guests took over the music. My parents and FI really want the cheesy DJ experience so so be it.

Shellk, Cant seem to upload anything, thanks for the offer of help, theres a snafu in my wireless internet connection (annoying)

Been trying and liking the Mabellyne Super Stay color lip color.. keep making the FI kiss me to test (heehee)...

Happy Thanksgiving to all :)

susie q,our resort does that but charges lots more.i think try and argue with them.what are your options if you dont do that?the hotel entertainment or is there a nightclub type place at the resort?

i dont know what to do about the hen night.i have 2 options pole+burlesque dancing for 2hrs then to a pub to get drunk or go to a place that has a live band and a meal.what would be your ladies 1st choice?i think the dancing would be fun but dont know how many friends would actually participate even though they would have fun watching.

I think I would be too uncomfortable to do option 1 so my choice would be option 2. But more importantly, what do you want to do? Don't worry about pleasing others. Your friends will be there for you!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
