I am currently trying to figure out if we need placecards and what the benefit of table cards are... I cant remember the last wedding we went to. We are having a sit down dinner and 62 (I think)... I got from another girl off of here some place card holders that were cheap (like 4 for 1.50)- not really wanting to spend a ton of money on stuff that will only be used once. But now not sure about the table cards... are you guys having them?

Mine are very simple I bought tiny plastic picture frames and used coloured cardstock as backing and attached very cheap name tags. see picture: cost about .55 cents each... Cheapy cheap

SusieQ: beautiful dress!! and I love the shoes! I think you look great...no need to worry. I didn't recognize you without the St. Patty's day garb on. :)

FutureMsMoulton: people have backed out of ours as well. I try not to get upset about it because we knew going into the whole DW thing that a lot of people wouldn't be able to make it. I know sometimes I can't help to be a little disappointed too. It is funny though, how excited people are to go and then when the time comes they back out. At least you're having an AHR so that you can still celebrate with everyone!

shinbinea: your BM dresses look great!

Susie you look lovely! I think the dress turned out really nice. What is the detail at the front? I wish you had a close up of that.

Funny someone should mention place cards, lol I decided to do them and I am ordering them through Ana so they will match our invitations. I am kind of killing two birds with one stone, because for favours I am getting maracas... which will also function as the means to get me and my FI to kiss. So I am having tags made where one side will have the guests name and what table they are at, and the other side will say: shake for a kiss. I will tie them to the maracas and have them all placed on a main table at the entrance so everyone gets one and everyone knows where to sit. We are a total of 40 people and I think assigning seats just helps everyone. Otherwise it will be a big mess. But that's just my two cents. I have everyone seated together via family and I have one table I call the 'shit mix table' LOL because it's all the spouses of the bridal party, my sister-in law, a cousin and the photographer. It's also the youngest table so watch- they'll have the most fun!

Now here's to hoping to last minute guests book, because the cards will be all messed up then! We are 5 perfect tables of 8. No more room! LOL

Also funny that you should mention place cards. I wasn't going to do them until I returned from a visit to our resort last week. I decided that it would be easier for everyone to know where to sit. I won't be numbering the tables but I will provide a seating list and diagram for the staff to follow when setting up.

I did my own design and will be using small tent cards (2 x 3.5 business card size) from Avery - no fussing with frames or stands.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
