Yes, I let her know to reserve the room, now I just have to come up with a date. I love your philosophy of dividing the price of the dress! A girl after my own heart..:)

Morning ladies,

Erica, I should have my dress in about two the three weeks. I found this lovely seamstress that has a shop on the side of her house and I swear she works 24/7. I met her at a fabric store where she works part time for the deals she gets on fabric. Being an employee she get 50% off. My fabric was $38 dollars, and the material and labour together she is charging me $250.00 for my dress. I have to admitt last night driving to her house which is a hour out in the country with no street lights, i was shaking my head and feeling a little sick.

When I got there my dress was on a bust in the window of her shop and I could see it when I pulled in her driveway, it was a sigh of relief. My gfriend came with me and she was admiring fabric in her shop and now she is having a custom dress made for my wedding. It was a celebration glass of wine last night.lol

I was really freaked out about my dress as many brides talked about the flowy fabric making them look huge and pregnant. I had not tried on a flowy dress I had just took a picture and had it made. I am sure Erica your glad you went with this style, it just feels beachy.

Anyway ladies i have to head off to work... i have a smile on my face and a skip in my step... Oh forgot to mention headache from the wine. lol

Isn't it great to see the progress of your dress? How long will it take to be finally done? I bet you can't wait to bring it home!?! What shoes will you wear? My dress is similar with it being split but in the side and I love how the Chiffon flows in your dress!

Good job girl!!! Good night. It's only 11:15am here so while you are sleeping I'll be working! Booo.... boring!

Here is my dress (but picture it in ivory and a size 16 not size 2 like on the model) lol

I love that split on the side, someone mentioned to me that the side spilt is very slimming. I just couldn't find anything that wasn't a formal gown with a side spilt. I know we're both going to be very happy to have a light fabric gown when its 35 degrees. You look very beautiful in your dress, great choice, very flattering.

Oh... I'm so happy for you! How cool your dress was waiting in the window for you! I got a laugh out of that! I'm glad you brought a friend along for company! Wine is a must when doing wedding planning... I know that for a FACT!!! LOL

I have to admit I did try on a few dresses that had flowy fabric and they did make me look larger than what I am. I think by having the slit up the front or side really makes a big difference and elongates the body. I had 4 dresses picked out, 2 gathered at the side, one had a slip up the middle and the 4th had a jeweled belt around the mid section. I chose the side one because I let the "mom's" rate them as I tried them on. I think they enjoyed sitting there watching me try on dresses as they relaxed in their comfy chairs... grrrrr! But, that was okay because I had my sister there who is my MOH and she helped me in the dressing room!

Have a good day at work SusieQ!

Yeah me too "total addict"!!! Ok you're in Vegas now get out and win some money... Sending you Susie's luck... i always win... not anything to write home about , sometimes up to $2500.00 . We don't gamble much once a year we go to the cascino for a charity event I organize every year. Good luck hun and thanks... i was really worried about my dress, it took me two weeks to call her back and go try it on. She thought I had cancelled my wedding or something bad had happened. I felt guilty, I was really scared i was going to hate it and have to tell the poor lady her dress sucked...lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
