Hi ladies!! Hope all of you pregos are taking good care of yourselves!!

Chris, let me get this straight...one year of maternity PLUS medical covers personal training?!? Oh, it must be rough! Haha. That's awesome. I think it's great that you got a trainer. I've had one for about a year and a half and I love her. You are right though, they are hardcore. I didn't work out with her for 2 weeks and after last week's session I was sore for days. Mine specializes in pre and post-natal so I think I will still be working out with her for a while. I know she wouldn't recommend this for her clients, but she went on a 2 mile run 2 or 3 days after giving birth. She's crazy. :) How many days a week are you working out with him? I just do one, but did 2-3 for the wedding. I wish I could do more, but it's expensive!

Brooke, I think Miles Justin is cute! I love the daddy's name as the middle. That's what we're going to do as well.

As for October...2 things...First, my sister and I are supposed to be organizing a 25th anniversity party for my parents on Oct. 2. We're still looking for a venue, but most likely it will be that weekend. Second, (and this is very pathetic) ok, so although we are not actively trying to get pregnant (not counting days or anything) we aren't not trying so I suppose there's always a chance that I could be pregnant at that time and (here's the pathetic part)...I am a nervous flyer. Usually I have 2 drinks and a Xanax before I fly and I am good to go. So....obviously I will not be getting drugged up when I'm pregnant so just wondering if I could do it sober. Actually, I KNOW that I could, but my stress level will be going through the roof an not sure how healthy that is if I was actually pregnant. I am going to Dallas in August so I'm going to try to fly sober then and see how it goes. Ugh, sooo...I really really would like to come and I'll just play it by ear. I just don't want you guys to switch weekends for me and then I can't make it. If anything changes with the date of the anniversary party I will plan on being there! I'd love to see you girls and your bellies!! I know you're probably thinking "Get over it already, it's just a plane! Brooke flies everyday and she's still alive and kickin'" I just have issues. :)

Tricia you're hilarious. I totally understand. A good friend of mine is a nervous flyer. Eric and I are still planning on going to Paris in September and she wants to come along with a close friend of ours. So we'll be four. Anyway, she was bugging me the other day about booking and I said relax flights are still cheap, and she said 'not with Air Canada!' and I said, well we won't fly with Air Canada then. She replied- but we have to because that's who Mark has airmiles with! I said so! If he wants to use his airmiles thats cool, we'll just meet him there. She said NO! we have to all fly together, I am terrified!!! I am like, Gen, there is no way I am paying a couple hundred bucks more so we can all fly together so Mark can get a free flight. I said, you can come with me and Eric don't worry, we'll hold your hand. Apparently this isn't good enough, she needs Mark too. LOL You nervous flyers are everywhere, and I am not making fun, I get it. :) I do.

Oh and Tricia, the only reason the personal training would be covered by my medical with work, is he is also a certified Naturopath, so he can issue me a receipt stating 'Naturopathic services' and I can then get the $$ back. This is private insurance through my work and while it seems like a good deal we still pay for it through our paycheques and it's also a taxzable benefit. There are good things about Canada and we do have a lot of social services compared to the states, but we are also highly taxed. I make a modest (by that I mean fairly average) income and I am in a 40% income tax bracket. It's highway robbery. Actually Quebecers are the highest taxed indivuduals in Canada. Sooooo if I can milk my insurance to get free personal training sessions, damn rights I am going to do it! :P haha

But I really feel bad for you guys with your mat leave. 6 weeks is just so wrong.

Hi Ladies,

Oct sounds great, I do have to do the wait and see right now ith the big pool repair and the wedding this year. I really would love to see you gals for sure.

I have to say that I have been experiencing extreme exhaustion since the AHR. I think it is just the down fall from almost a year of planning a wedding and a party that size. I have been sleeping like no tomorrow. I am hoping this blah passes quickly...

Take Care Ladies

Hi ladies! I'm soooooooo stressed right now, that it's making me sick!! Literally i've been sick! sad.gif As if I'm not stressed enough with the wedding in less than a month, trying to stay skinny in my dress, and trying to finish stuff, then with this AHR stuff on top of that! And then, my MOH (who is also Sean's sister), has been pulling stupid crap and I'm super worried about everything! It's awful! I don't think I've ever been this stressed before! sad.gif

Anyway,I really really really want to come in October, but I don't know if I can with school. I will be taking 2 masters classes again in the fall and trying to find a practicuum placement while working full time, so I'll have to wait and see what my school schedule is before I take any holidays.

Sue- I'm sorry to hear about your exhaustion! Make sure you take good care of yourself and your body!

Chris - I'm glad to hear that you are doing well! And you definitely don't need to lose any weight at all!! You are skinny skinny girl!!I hate when doctors say you are overweight, blah blah blah, BMI crap. I'm a size 10, weigh 160 lbs, and according to doctors I'm obese and need to lose 30 pounds. Seriously, size 10 is obese? !!! They need to take into account people's body structures, muscle mass, etc. I hate BMI - it's stupid, and any good nutritionist/trainer will tell you the same thing, it's about measurements, not weight, because weight can fluctuate so much based on water retention, foods you eat, amount of muscle vs. fat.

Wow...I'm really cranky today.... sad.gif

Krista, I totally hear you! I am actually a dietitian that works in a pediatric weight management centre. There is so much to consider when looking at someone's weight and health. BMI is nowhere near a perfect tool to determine overweight. What really bothers me though is when I see families come into our centre and talk about their negative experiences with trainers, doctors, etc., telling them "lose weight" or "you need to lose 15 lbs." Nice advice -- too bad it's just not that easy. Throwing weight loss numbers around without any justification is dangerous.

Stay positive, girl! All the stress will be just a memory soon -- your big day is just around the corner!

The ONLY issue I might have is that if we are pregnant my doc said I can't fly anywhere until I know the baby is where it should be. IF we get pregnant right away, I would be good because he'll send me for an ultrasound at 6 - 6 1/2 weeks. IF we don't get pregnant right away it might be an issue because I might not know by early-Oct. Unfortunately there is no way to predict the future, but if I'm able to come - I'm so there.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
