Hey everyone! I miss you!!! I miss all our pre-wedding planning, bantering back and forth... now this thread barely moves.... cry.gif Today is our three week anniversary! haha Last week at work I announced our two week, and a co-worker says- ooooh don't start that now! I replied, why not? She didn't have a rebuttle. Man I work with assholes.

Sooooooo in the three weeks since my wedding I have successfully stressed over and in this order... the weather... the pictures... the dinner music... the reception... LOL I am hoping by the end of next week I'll just be able to relax and look back on the wedding without feeling 'I wish I did this, or I wish I did that'. I am a nutter. My wedding was fabulous and everyone had a great time, but I am so anal and such a control freak I can't help but go over the things in my head that could have been better or what I would do differently. Anyone else going through this?

Anyway... I am still anxiously awaiting our pro pics. I wish he'd just send me one teaser pic to ease my mind!!! I am tempted to email him but I don't want to be a bother... what do you think? Should I just be patient?

Sunnyee- that is an awesome story! breens and I actually met up on the Monday before our weddings in the wedding co-ordinators office. It was pretty funny, we kept looking over at each other then I think we both said our names at the same time and then laughed. We were at diff. sections of the resort so unfortunately I never saw them again.

Tricia- I totally understand... all I want to do is be alone with my husband. People around us seem to not get that we're newlyweds and constantly call us to do things, lol

Susie- aunt flo arrived this morning and late I might add so I was a little stressed this week. Your friend won't be making me a blanket, lol. Not this month anyway.

Hey ladies,

I know you are all post-wedding, and some are having post-wedding blues (svetayasofiya - don't worry, I think that's normal because I do the same thing! Just try to think about how wonderful your day was and focus on the positive things and I bet everyone who was there talked about how amazing it was and that it was the best wedding that they had ever been too!)

anyway, I've been getting lots of pre-wedding stuff done. Just under 4 months to go! YIKES! I have 7 guests booked so far and about 10 more who are about to book. :) YAY!! I tried on my dress the other day for my mom (she lives far away so she wasn't here when it came in), and she had tears in her eyes! It was awesome. The first time I tried it on, it was a little tight, but now it fits almost just right, so I still have about 10-15 pounds to lose, but I can do it! I tried on my veil with the dress, but since my dress is champagne and I didn't really think of that when buying my veil, I now have to try and tea dye my veil to match. I got it on discount, so if it doesn't work that's okay, i'll just go buy another. I may also be able to use FI mom's veil (could be my something old and borrowed).

I went shopping this last weekend (my mom was down for my birthday and to see my dress :) and I found the perfect pink purse to match my perfect pink shoes. I love it! My bouquet and hair flowers are also on the way, and I have purchased some starfish necklaces/earring sets for myself, MOH, and my mom. Also got two new bikinis and a few new tanktops. I'm planning to get some rhinestone hot fix iron ons and make my own "bride" tanktop, as well as tanktop for MOH, MOTB and MOTG. I also have a few cute little sundresses and fancy dresses that I got at sears clearance! Great price and I love them!

I think that's it for now, been very busy girl!! I can't wait till my classes are finished for this semester (mid April) so I can really get cracking on the wedding stuff. I'm getting so pumped!!

I love seeing everyone's pictures and it just makes me daydream more about my own dreamy perfect wedding day! Thank you for sharing with me!!! I love you guys!

Krista :)

I have to say I agree that I miss checking, chatting and spending time in this particular forum with you ladies-better than the others by far :). I do know that I really enjoy having you all as new FB friends, I love how it makes me feel more connected, and I love seeing all your pic updates!

Chris- We definitely enjoyed running into you guys that Monday at Barcelo, I am sad that I didn't get to come spy out your wedding :) we were having a rehearsal night...but try to not stress and rethink it. I am similar and do the same thing, but the hubby is a great supporter in reminding me not to do that, and when I start in with the worrying of how it can be better he reminds me of how wonderful it went and what everyone keeps saying. Last night, two friends that went were going on and on with other friends that didn't get to attend telling them how wonderful and amazing it was. And many times I have heard that it was the best wedding they have ever attended, very much due to destination, which means that all your weddings were the best ever too!!!

With all of that, Krista, I will say, the one and only thing I would do different, not to be a worry-er :) was to have a welcome page in their OOT bags that told them the details of the rehearsal night gathering and the wedding day activities. I feel like that could have helped hubby and I not having to tell 50 people what is going on...but I'm not going to worry, it worked out fine :)

Oh, and Chris, my photographers said they should have photos up in a month, so I am going to wait till next week, and then send a nice email saying how excited I am for the photos and if they knew of a possible timeline to share their work. I am also waiting for pics to advertise/share how wonderful they are, so I may use that to help nudge them along :) Either way, I think 3-4 weeks is understandable to ask (anything mentioned in the contract) so I would say go ahead. Also, from what I hear and have seen, the overcast weather we both had makes for great lighting for photography. I have heard this from several photographers, and another girlfriend of mine who was married on a beach in antigua, had overcast weather and gorgeous pics!

Sorry ladies, just wanted to share and let you know I still check and try to be part of the conversation! :)

I hope that everyone is doing great post wedding and not having withdrawals too bad. :) On Monday when I went back to work I gave my hubby a kiss goodbye and started crying! Crazy wife here! I was just thinking about how I was with him everyday for 16 days and how I was going to miss him. Our AHR is on March 27 so I'm still finishing up last minute things for that and then hope life settles down a little!
Tricia that is such a beautiful picture of you and your hubby

Ladies i have heard from Rayanna and her wedding day was just amazing and they had a wonderful time. However she did come home to her dog being very sick and she has been dealing with that the past few weeks. smile27.gif I know my dogs are like my children and I know Parker is her child too. She is dealing with that situation and not feeling very social at the moment. she promised to check in with us soon and give us some pictures. Our girl is needing a little love and prayers right now.:grouphug.gif

Good to hear from everyone again! Been a little slow! I think it's hilarious that we have gotten close enough that people talk about "aunt flo" visiting as Chris put it. Haha.

Krista, I have to agree with Breens... we all realized that we shouldn't have worried so much, but that's what you do as a bride to be! You'll think the same thing. It's great to get so much accomplished, way to go girl.

So, if everyone is on FB I need some emails. I found Brooke and Susie...

Krista-- I love hearing about your wedding planning! I/We all know exactly what you are feeling and going through with the stress and excitment! Its awesome and I can't get enough of hearing about it!

For the rest of you ladies- I also miss hearing from all of you. My biggest regrets would be i totally forgot to get photos with my bridesmaids!!! I have 1!! I got so wrapped up into the day and excitment that it took me until monday to realize it and my bridesmaids & bridesmen left on sun! I was really sad! Also we forgot to get shots of just me-- What bride forgets that! lol Oh well the ones that did work out were amazing and one of my favorites was when we got out of our wedding clothes and went to a swing bar during the break from the wedding to the dinner. Its my profile pic on facebook-- I still have my tiara in in the photo, but we are so happy and relaxed it rocks.

I got my ring saudered together yesterday-- that was another relief off my mind they kept rubbing together and my band is 70+ years old so i didn't want it ruined.

Hope you guys are all doing well--- I got "aunt flo" during my vacation and Justin thinks he is Mr. Awesome and will get me preggers right away, I keep telling him.... not going to happen. We will see who is right... I can't wait to see the baby thread start! I do knit-- just really suck at it when it comes to finishing a project.

Mr. Awesome! LMAO LOVE IT!!!!! I am honestly in no rush, but I just wish someone could tell me that it will happen. I don't want to be one of those couples who have problems and it takes a year or longer. I'll give up before that happens. I am 35... I don't want to be changing diapers in my 40's...

It's funny, our photographer kept our wedding party with us the whole time and afterwards I said to my husband, I don't think we have many of just us. But apparently he was taking them in between... the whole thing is a blur to me.

The major thing I would have done differently was had made someone in charge of the reception to keep the flow going. We needed an MC. It was my photographer who let us know that we were really falling behind. We did our first dance right away at the beginning which I liked, but then we took way too long for dinner. By the time we did speaches and the father/daughter dance and mother/son dance it was 9:20pm (for a reception that was supposed to end at 10pm!!) We bought an extra hour, but I really wish we could have bought two extra hours but they wouldn't let us. So yeah, I would have give someone the job of MC so that speaches could have been done during desert or something so dancing could have started earlier. But anyway, it's all irrelevant now and everyone had a fabulous time. I just had this awesome playlist on our ipod and we had to cut out over an hour of it!!

Oh! and!!! use soundcheck!!! Our dinner music kept going loud and quiet. I got major flack from my big bro over that one, lol What can you do? It's a little late now.

TGIF girls!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
