Thanks so much guys....I really appreciate the commiseration on the dress. Thank gosh that hurdle is done now!

Brooke that is really nice - the calla lily. I talked to my mom and I am thinking about having and extra chair placed at the end of the front row with just a white rose on it...but I don't want the whole thing to be too sappy and morbid either. I just want to have my dad there is some small way I can see, you know? The other option is a small vase with a white rose in it. We will know what it is about, but others won't so its quiet and personal.

Timberly and Chris - I agree this site is off the last couple of nights! IT must be super busy because last night I didn't think my post made it on....it kept flashing back to the top of the page and wouldn't let me scroll or anything. Seems to be working now though:)

Off to do some more work on DIY stuff. FI has to go today and pick up his man gifts....we found these nice leatherman tools and he wants to have them engraved, so since they are all big campers and love fishing, these seems like a good idea that the guys will actually use rather than throw in a drawer.

Then I am going to work on a bouquet for me and some bouts. I was in touch with a lady in Calgary who said she used real touch and I sent her the $20 for a sample bouquet - I still don't have it and its been over a month. Nor is she responding to my emails.....after saying she could do them without any problems. So I figure others on here have made their own and they were gorgeous - I am giving it a try with a bunch of gorgeous flowers I found. I figure if it doesn't work....I have real ones in Mexico for back up!

Have a good day my friends!

Hi ladies!

Raykel - I'm so glad things worked out with your dress! And I think the idea about the rose on the chair is nice, and not sappy at all, I've seen some brides who've gone so far as to have a picture of the person on a table at the reception with candles. I thought it was very touching! I'm also very sorry that you and your mom have to go through the pain of not having him there on your special day. grouphug.gif

It sounds like the lady in Calgary is taking you for a ride! censored.gif why are people so shitty sometimes?

Susie! I AM SO EXCITED FOR YOU!!! You are in paradise and you are going to marry your man!!! :) It gave me goosebumps reading your post....but the passing out part - not cool! you need to get some major rest when you get back to Canada! I'd say while you are in mexico, but that probably won't happen! heeheehee S&M.gif

Shells have fun at your hen night! I love that term! :) I can't wait to see your planning thread!

My mom's coming to town this weekend to go dress shopping for her. I'm excited because my mom's like my best friend and I can't wait to see what we pick out for her! Also, she hasn't seen me IN my dress yet, so I think I will try it on for her! :)smile03.gif

Raykel -- glad the dress worked out for you. I also think the tribute to your Dad you have planned sounds lovely. I know he will be there in spirit on your wedding day.

Susie -- so excited for you! Shipping champagne - awesome!

I can't believe we leave 2 weeks from today. I think I have nearly everything in order. I have appointments for hair and manicure planned. I have to pick up our wedding bands on Tuesday morning. Tonight is dress fitting #2; all I should have left to get done is the bustle for my dress. I'm a bit nervous, though, after reading about Raykel's dress drama...

My FI is bumming big time right now, because one of his best friends, who was supposed to be a groomsman, called yesterday to say he can't come to Mexico. We kind of knew this may happen, but it doesn't hurt any less...

Hope all the February brides are surviving -- it's almost time!

Hi Ladies

Sorry I had to dash this morning.... I am fine, I fell on my butt and because there was so amny people I didn't hit my head or anything. I think I landed on someone's legs.... Oh well made some new friends.

The meeting with the WC went so well... She met us with a kiss and a hug. She went through everything "detailed". Then she took us on a walk to the Gazebo and explained everthing step by step. I had tears in my eyes I was so happy and excited.

My brother made it here... I have put him to bed for a few hours. He was like a six year old on chocolate when he arrived. He hadn't slept in 48 hours so totally wired and two sheets to the wind.

Going for dinner soon.... Ladies I quickly read your post... Please stop worrying ladies... It'll come and be great. Those people that are letting you down and pissing you off... really don't matter at all..... Those we have lost along the way for other reasons like people we truely love and know would have been over joyed to be here for that special day... They will be in someway... You'll feel their enegry and love.... I 'll talk to you later lovely ladies.

Wow... Susie! I can't believe you are still in contact with us during your wedding week! You need to get some sleep girly! I'm sorry you had an episode in the airport! OMG... I bet your hubby was scared!!

I wish you all the best and can't wait to see pics of your special day! How's the weather if I may ask? We are leaving in about a week and I've been having nightmares that the weather is cold and the ocean and pools are freezing!

A few more days and you get to walk down the aisle with the sun at your head and sand at your feet! We put on our wedding brochures "Sun requested but shade provided!" ha-ha!

*hugs*

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
