Ms.Z..I wouldnt do the honeymoon now, but I would need like 4 days off..3 at a minimum. My Fiance is telling me calm down whatever happens happens this is our day and hes convinced anyone would understand if I told them we had this wedding planned long in advance..I am just being my typical paraniod capricorn self thinking this is going to screw me big time. But in all seriousness, lets just say that I meet a principal and by the whatever luck she happens to like me and offers me the job, if I say that its a wedding bla bla bla...it could really screw me? I want honest answers here lol.

Hi there,

Not sure this is much help as I'm from Canada, but I started my first year teaching this past fall and we got engaged over Christmas. While discussing if we would go away or not I asked my principal if it was possible to get a week off with my days etc, he tried, but the division flat out refused. So we are going spring break. I can't even take a day at the beginning or end, to extend the break. I agree with most posters, who have said it probably wouldn't be a good idea. But there is that chance that b/c it is already planned b4 you got hired they will accomidate you.

Good luck!

I have to miss the last 2 days of school for my wedding. We booked really early in order to get a really good discount on the resort (before the school calendar for 2010 came out). After we booked, we realized that school was going to end later than expected, making me miss the last 2 days. I have not even told my principal yet. I am hoping my principal will be nice and just grant me the two days as "sick leave". If not, I will apply for 2 unpaid days off, which I dont think is too difficult. I am in Canada though, so rules might be different.

I decided I am going to stop stressing it..because so far I dont even have a job lol. So i'll look at the bright side and say if I am not working then I can take the whole 10 days and actually enjoy my wedding week..and if I do then i'll worry about it then..going to drive myself nuts for something non existent lol.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
