I think on our invites & STDs it was bride then groom...but when I sign anything from us now (cards, TY cards, etc) it depends on who it's going to - if it's his family, his name goes first...if it's my family, then my name goes first. If it's mutual friends then I think I usually put mine first!

So, in short, I say do whatever looks & sounds best. That's the great thing with DW...you can through tradition & etiquette (some anyway!) out the window!! lol

I read that it depends on the letters in your names. I think this was in martha stewart weddings a few issues back....

If one of the names ends in a consonant, you put that first and if one name ends in a vowel you put that second.

Ie) Bill & Sara

Or in my case it's Oliver & Lori

If both end in vowels or consonants then it's customary to put the bride first.

We did Oliver & Lori because it sounds better and looks better but it might be due to the vowel thing in terms of why it sounds better. I think when you have a vowel and the and right next to it, it's harder to say.

Sorry long explanation I just researched this a TON because I was worried people would think we were doing something crazy to put his name first.

These days, anything goes though. I wouldn't worry about it!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
