my photog suggested meeting up before the ceremony to take photos... however my ceremony begins at 12noon and i would really like to not to see the groom til then. we have the chapel for 90 mins so we gotta be outta there by 130, and then i wanted to take photos somewhere nice around the island until the reception dinner at 5:30.

those who have done something like this, how did it work out for you? do u wish u got them all done before the ceremony?

thanks!

We have a 4:00 wedding in the Chapel and we are absolutely not seeing the groom before that. That moment when the chapel doors open and he sees you for the first time in your gown should never be traded for the convenience of photographs. It is a moment that takes his breath away and you will never forget the look on his face. You have plenty of time after your ceremony and before the reception and I would use that time. Our reception will be one hour after the ceremony ends and I think that is more than enough time for the photographer to get some couple shots and some with the bridal party on the beach, etc. We have 30 min after the ceremony to get some in the chapel too. How many couple pics are you really going to print anyway? Good luck!

I agree, whatever you are comfortable with, just ask your photographer, they should be MORE than willing to accomodate you! Also, you can always designate a family member or someone from the bridal party to show the photographer around after the getting ready part is done if that's something you're doing, and get them set up to take pics while the ceremony is happening. That way you can get those cool getting ready pictures, without having your FI see you in your dress! It will all work out fine!

I see your wedding already passed, but I'll post for others who come across this. We saw each other for about 30 minutes before. It was wonderful. He stood on top of a staircase & I walked up to him & gave him a big hug. I liked having that moment semi-private. It also helped me get the nerves out.

Seeing each other before isn't just for convenience, but also it can be a really special moment on the wedding day. It's really a personal preference. You can see my before pics at "My Wedding Album" link.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
