Not really. We signed a contract that said we would pay for any unbooked rooms in full, if they were not filled. We also paid a deposit, but it was just to secure the hotel for the week. Does that make sense?

Wow, I'm liking this place more and more everyday!!! :) It seems very reasonable. We went to brunch with FI's family yesterday we mentioned that we were definitely going to change the location from the Iberostar resorts and instead have everything with a boutique hotel. When we told them the approximate cost for their stay for 5 days, they were really surprised and happy to hear how reasonable it is!

We're thinking anywhere between 30-50 for ours and hoped to keep it around $10K. We want to spoil our guests and WOW! them as much as possible, but without breaking the bank. :)

Wow, you're 8 months out and already have 22 rooms booked! That's impressive!

Are you and your FI staying just 5 days there and then honeymooning elsewhere? Can people stay longer than the 5 days for the same rate it they want? We have some guests who want to stay a full week or more.

Yeah, I can't believe how fast our rooms have filled up! I'm afraid we might overflow the hotel.

Guests can stay extra nights, with the same nightly rate as your package. We are coming down a few days before(as suggested by our WC), and then doing a honeymoon to Greece six months later.

Also, PF provides lots of low-cost options that provide WOW! factors(fireworks, bands, fire jugglers, etc) that we are excited about. :)

When you reserved the 18 room block, is there a specific room type that the guests will have? Or, will they be scattered throughout the different room types?

(BTW--- Thanks for answering so many of our initial questions! It's so nice to have somone farther along in their planning process for Playa Fiesta on here and so helpful about providing us with info!)

First, Adam (the owner) assigns a block of 18 rooms. There is a mix of room types - Standard Rooms, Ocean View Suites, Two Bedroom Ocean View Suites, and Penthouses. The wedding couple gets a detailed room chart, and assigns their guests to their rooms. As you go up above 18, Adam proportionately adds the connecting units to your block.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
