Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Recommended Posts

jwashing, While weddings are gorgeous, there really isn't any night life to speak of. They had carribean night and brought in vendors, that were EXTREMELY rude. We left it quickly. Mexican night is good, but it ends early. So if you are looking for night activites, this is not the place.

thank you Cindy! that's kinda what i figured from all the other reviews. DRC is definitely looking like the best wedding spot, but that's just 1 day and we're really wanting the other 6 days of the trip to be enjoyable for everyone too!!

Hi Everyone! First time poster here.

I'm in the exact same situation as jwashing. I'm in the process of picking a destination spot and I love DRC, but I'm very hesitant b/c of the night life. I've been to other resorts where they have awesome shows, and great night life for large groups. But DRC doesn't seem to have this at all. I'm going to be bringing approx 50+ guests and over half are mid-late twenties who love to party!

I'm EXTREMELY torn on what to do. I've looked at other resorts but unfortunately the only ones I liked were adults-only. I don't want to bring so many guests all the way to Dreams and have a dull time.

Can anyone who's been give me any advice on this issuehuh.gif

Thanks!

We actually just booked a regular room and may upgrade when we get there, not sure yet. We just didn't want to spend the extra $ for a plunge pool or anything because we will have 40 guests at the resort, many the same length of time as us so we won't have much alone time. We're planning to take another separate trip by ourselves next summer for our honeymoon.

Okay, so me and my fiance took a scouting trip to Mexico a couple of weeks ago. DRC by far was the best location as far as the look and the rooms etc. Absolutly beautiful! However, I am so nervous to book because we have a lot of partiers coming as well and I am afraid they will be bored and complain and I will feel bad. My close friends keep telling me that it is MY wedding and if they don't like it they can take a cab to go out to a club. The cab ride to Playa or Cancun is like $30 one way though.

Now I hear that they do not have nightly shows! Eeeek, I didn't know that....how could I have missed that! Torn about what to do =(

Hey girls,

I have the same thing with my group although I kind of think these things are what you make them! My group will make a good time out of nothing i'm sure and theres always the disco at 11..

Everyones told me to remember its for a wedding first and most importantly and DRC offers an excursion into cancun which inc. a bar crawl (I see on their excursions list) and theres boat trips etc.

It is a shame about the shows as I enjoy them but some of my guests wouldnt be into that anyway x

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
