I've emailed him everyday for 2 weeks... and he still hasnt replied!

Are you using Cesar (mauricio)? We had the same problem.... He was great at communicating up until about a month before the wedding and then we never heard from him until the day before we left....

Which DJ are you having trouble with? We booked AVI-SPL and they have been great with our communication. I haven't found many reviews for them but from what I've seen on their Facebook it seems like they do a lot of bigger events.

Would you be able to post AVI-SPL email address please?

I would let your wedding coordinator know you want to change and you can't get in touch with him. I emailed Lorena telling her and I think she let him know to email me and he finally did the day before we left.

Hi girls! did you all get the special rate for the wedding group through a travel agent or direct from the resort? I am doing directly with the resort and this is actually pending, they have not provided the special rate for my group. Can you let me know what were the rates you got and the dates for them?

Thanks

Hi! We used a travel agent to book. I highly recommend it - it was so nice and easy! The rates we got were still a little higher because it was peak travel time in the winter but here are the rates we ended up getting through our travel agent. There was also a Book 5 Rooms, Get 1 Free deal going on so we ended up getting the credits for 2 free rooms. I'm not sure if they have that all the times for groups but it's definitely something worth looking into! :)

Following are the rates we can offer over the travel period of January 2 - February 1, 2013.  Keep in mind that dates do fall over the peak travel season and will be higher than the Spring/Summer/Fall rates.
Rates are quoted "per person per night" including all taxes/fees.

Premium Deluxe Tropical & Garden View: $200.00 per person based on double / $247.00 per night single / $199.00 per person per night triple Premium Deluxe Ocean View: $210.00 per person based on double / $257.00 per night single / $209.00 per person pernight triple Premium Deluxe with Plunge Pool: $230.00 per person based on double / $276.00 per night single / $229.00 per person per night triple Preferred Club Premium Ocean View w/Jacuzzi: $240.00 per person based on double / $286.00 per night single / $239.00 per person per night triple
Preferred Club Premium Ocean View w/Jacuzzi & Plunge Pool: $260.00 per person based on double / $308.00 per night single / $259.00 per person per night triple Preferred Club Ocean Front Honeymoon Suite: $280.00 per person based on double / $560.00 per night single

Hey girls! We just got our slideshow link from Adventure Photos! I know some people have been asking about other photographers with Adventure (other than Anel) and I wanted to share our slideshow because we had Francisco as our photographer. He was awesome, really nice, and I think the pics turned out great - even though it rained as our ceremony was supposed to be starting! :)

I know I was curious while we were waiting for our photos so in case anyone else wants to know about timing...we didn't have time to go through and choose our photos while we were there because they told us it would take a few hours and we couldn't fit it it. So after we got home, they sent us a link about 1 1/2 weeks after our wedding date. From there, we sent in the selection and had our slideshow 4 days later. They said our CD will be here within 2 weeks and the photo book within 6 weeks :)

Our locations in the slideshow are the North Beach (ceremony), terrace outside entrance of Desires (cocktail hour), and Seaside Grill (reception).

beautiful pictures Ashley!!!! Francisco did a wonderful job! I love how your turned out and the bridesmaid dresses were so pretty!!

Did y'all get ready in the presidential suite? It's SO much nicer than the master suite we had!

Mike did my wedding with two assistants and I definitely did not pay $300!

I agree with what one of u said about them trying to squeeze every penny... i am having a saxaphone player for my ceremony (because i heard hear comes the bride on the sax and fell in love ) lol and they want  to charge me 50$ for the microphone for the ceremony. like okay, im paying a lot for the saxaphone player which i don't mind at all.... but also charging me 50$ to turn on a microphone so my guests could hear the ceremony is where i draw the line LOL

Lorena also let me know that in 2013 there will be a fee to set up a table at the reception ( like with your place cards etc ). I wont be charged because i started planning a year ago but still im not a fan of this for future brides because even at an expensive wedding hall they would put out your place cards without charging you.

I saw another girl ask about deliverin a welcome letter. . . i am having welcome bags delivered to each room for $3 each. i just think it is easier than meeting all my guests at the enterance since ill probably be in the pool lol

21 days till i leave to go and i just keep thinking of more and more things i forgot to either order or organize lol ;) cant wait

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
