Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Recommended Posts

hello already married Dreams brides,

My wedding is in 2 weeks and I have a question about bar options during the reception. Our reception is from 7pm to 10pm on the Pool Terrace, and I was wondering which resort bar is closest to the Pool Terrace?? We have 90 guests attending and don't want to spend $4,000 on an international bar for 3 hours! (Especially when everyone has already paid all-inclusive)!

If one of the bars is close enough then maybe we'll just have guests going there for drinks but I'm not sure...perhaps the first hour we'll pay for (during speaches and that) and then the last 2 hours people can leave the reception area and go to the bar to grab their drinks.

Any suggestions?? Thanks so much!

Maureen

I did not request any songs, since I was not familiar with any mexican trio music. I asked my wedding coordinator Gabi, and she said they will play some beautiful Mexican wedding music. She said something like Canon in D would not sound good. Whatever they played sounded awesome to me, and our guests loved it. I am sure you can request stuff if you want?

Hi Kelly,

You had the mexican trio play for your ceremony?  When exactly did they play - as the guests were arriving and being seated, and then for the procession and when you walked in etc?  Did they play for a bit afterwards for the champagne toast and cocktail or would that be too much time?  I was saying earlier that I would like to get some pictures after the ceremony on the beach with the mexican trio like Savs did, but I also like the idea of them playing for the ceremony...  just curious about how the timing all worked out.

Thanks!

I finally got a response to an email I had sent weeks ago and was told their are a few weddings the same day as me.  I am wondering what a few means.  Anyone else getting married May 18, 2013?  I confirmed that I will be there from the 15th to the 22nd so maybe she meant a few while I was there, not on that Saturday.  If you are getting married on the 18th let me know!

I thought I posted this earlier, but it seems to have not shown up...  apologies if it suddenly appears twice.

Kelly, I'm wondering if you could fill us in a bit more on using the Mexican trio for the ceremony.  Did they play as your guests arrived, and during the procession and when you walked down the aisle?  When else did they play during the ceremony?  Did they stay into the cocktail hour and pictures at all?  I loved Savs pictures with the trio on the beach, but I also like the idea of having them play for the actual ceremony, so I'm just curious to hear more details about how it all worked in your case.

Thanks!

Has anyone seen or had a wedding reception in the Mexican Restaurant "El Patio"? I was thinking of having my reception there instead of the beach deck only because it is a safer route in case of rain/wind and it is very festive looking and very cute:) Please let me know if any of you have reviews of this location.

Going from the Ultimate Package to the Paradise Package

Ok, yes, a little sad. crybaby2.gifOk, very sad.

The amount of guests I thought were coming, are no longer. So Im literally going to change just about everything. ugh.

Since only 20 people (or less) are coming we are now looking to just have dinner after the reception at El Patio. My fiance doesnt want to spend the $15 per person to book the reservation. Im just afraid were not going to be able to all sit together.

Any feedback? Anyone know of a anyone who went through this?

You can also email me: simstar969@hotmail.com

For the photography packages, I'm wondering if the pictures included in the ultimate package get added to the pictures included with the photography packages?  So if we book the $999 full day coverage package (which includes 100 photos), and the ultimate package (which includes 50 photos), will we actually get to choose 150 photos to go home with?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
