Hello everyone. I plan on getting married on 03/12/11 at the resort.

What photographer can you recommend ? What about pricing?

saymyname we are using Elizabeth Medina, I think she is fabulous, but also one of the more expensive options out there we also looking into Sol and Cecilia Dumas, those were our 2nd and 3rd choices - I am sure there is a thread on here that discusses each phographer at length

Wow! Super sad. Just learned that the only time to get married on the day I want is 11am....Anyone else getting married in the am? are you doing any kind of reception? I really wanted an evening reception.

I have attached the deck set up I pretty much want to replecate but got quoted a crazy amount for the brown chairs - have any of you girls managed to find it cheaper than USD 7 per chair?

On the positive side those overlays were quoted at USD 10, a much better bang for the buck in my opinion

            Happy planning!
            Boo,
Did you say that the wooden chairs are $7/chair? Do you know if you can use them for the ceremony and the reception? I really like the way they look in the photos too.

Ana said the resort can do a signature drink for the cocktail hour, at no additional charge. I guess that makes sense, since it is open bar, but just thought would be extra cool if they would walk around and hand out "blue" drinks or whatever type of tropical drink I come up with. I might just have to start a new post to see what drink others have used as a signature drink! I asked Ana, but she didn't answer all of my questions (shocking!)

Does Dreams Riviera have a minimum guest requirement actually staying at the hotel in order to have the wedding?

No, I do not believe so. That was one of the things that turned me off with the RIU.

SDBeach girl, yeah USD 7 per chair, I thought that was nuts... well we are having our ceremony not at DRC and we are paying for white chiavary chairs with a white cushion USD 6 per chair, but in order to then move and then set them up at DRC would be another USD 6 per chair so that is why I contacted Ana about the brown chairs... long story short I think the vendor would charge you twice to move but its worth it to ask... just like the microphone and speakers...separate charge at each location
