Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

I see some people are looking for itineraries.  Here is mine.  Hope it helps!

Arrive Thursday

Friday- meet with Gina in her office

Saturday morning- rehearsal for the wedding party and parents

Sunday- wedding day- Hair appointments are at 2:00

6:00- ceremony at the gazebo

7:00- cocktail hour by the jacuzzi

8:00- 11:00- reception on the pool terrace

Not sure when Anel starts- we got package 3.  Since it includes the hair appointment photos, I'm assuming 2?

Videographer- we just are using the included package, which is just the ceremony.

Am I missing anything??  Hope not!

I think the 3rd package only includes 6 hours so if you want her to stay until 11 when the reception is over, she won't start until 5pm.

That's where I'm coming in to a dilemma too.... I got package 4 which also includes 6 hours, but because my reception ends at 8:30 she won't start until 2:30. My ceremony is at 3:30 so.... that means I'll be getting my hair and makeup done before 2:30.

That's why I was wanting some sort of itinerary for the day. Like how everyone is splitting up time with the photographer (guys room/girls room) hair appts, getting ready etc.

Thanks for this too. I had my ceremony happening at 4:00pm but now I'm thinking of moving everything back at least an hour. my fiance is worried that 7pm is too late to start the reception though! Maybe I'll be able to persuade him. I mean, sunset will be around 7:25pm....

What time are you doing your ceremony, cocktail hour and reception?

OMG I read your message & FORGOT to reply!  I am sorry.  I am going nuts.  I still have over 30 things on the to-do list because apparently I am not as organized as I'd like to be!!!

Ceremony is 6:00 PM - I did this in hopes it would be cooler.  I expect it to go until 6:25 or so.  Then champagne toast at the end for all the guests.

Cocktail Hour is 7-8 PM at the North Jacuzzi.  Seeing this in person solidified the location for me.

Reception is 8-11 PM at the Seaside Grill!

Anel is taking photos all day - but not sure what time that starts.  My videographer is coming in at 4:30 and staying until 9:30!

LyndseyM

Hey Lindsey

I'm so excited for you! :)

Do you mind me asking how much extra it is costing you to use the seaside grill for your reception?

I'm trying to book it and confirm costs but eva isnt replying to my emails. I'm not getting married to April next year so i understand why she isnt replying quickly

Hi Ladies-

So I've decided that I'm going to do a rehearsal dinner for close family, however from all the reviews and what not I can't seem to remember what everyone has done or what is the best one to go with.  If you could let me know where you have planned yours or what restaurants from reviews are good that would be really helpful!!  Thanks sooo much for all the help in this whole planning process as I would be completely lost.

okay girls this is totally un related to dreams BUT if you are bored and can give me an opinion id appreciate it..

SO 2 days ago I boughy my dress. i put it on and fell absolutely in love with it, i know its the dress i want to wear- no doubt about it. HOWEVER when i went to pay for it and get my measurements taken she aked me if i was ordering it in the color i tried on...... because the color i tried on was champage/ivory. The champagne is very subtle and underneath the ivory & the rest of the dress is IVORY.

I was DEAD SET on getting a bright white wedding dress.... myself and my friends all though the dress was white until she told us it wasnt!! anyway they convinced me that i loved it as is and to not change the color but its 2 days later and its all i could think about!!! The consultant told me that the designer I ordered uses a very bright white and it cheapens the look of the dress. she said the one i tried on was the richest looking & i would be dissapointed with the all white, but i can still change my mind!!

The dress comes in either champage/ivory/silver, /ivory/ivory/silver or white/white/silver. not only did i NOT get the white but i got the CHAMPAGE ( just saying the word scares me ) i am totally freaking out.

am i going to look dirty next to my white tablecloths ??? AHHH GRRR someone help me what would you do !?!? my friends and family thought i looked beautiful and think im insane and dont want to hear about it anymore. =**(

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
