Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Hi Everyone

My wedding is April 24th and as of right now both the ceremony and reception are scheduled to be on the beach but I'm having doubts now about having the reception of the beach. I've always dreamed about having the reception right on the beach under candlelight but several people have said that it's too windy. I was wondering if anyone knows first hand if its really windy at the end of april on the beach at night time. As much as I would like to have the reception on the beach there`s no point if sand is going to be blowing into peoples food and if all the candles will get blown out.

Thanks!

Super quick question. I am having my ceremony on the Beach. Does anyone know that name of the Beach? I'm trying to order my invites tonight and I would like to put the name of the Beach on there. Thanks!! Kate
North or south beach. I chose North beach...due to reviews on here...seems more private.

You need to make the appointment.  I asked my coordinator and she put me in touch with Veronica in the spa.  She made all my appointments and sent me the invoice for my girls.
You definitely need to make appointment yourself. I plan on doing 4 to6weeks out. Plan on confirming in person the day we arrive. W

The shell idea is awesome! Yeah she is just finishing up my stuff (last min) b/c of having her baby.

I got part of my order today!

I'm going to try making my own bouquet from shells, like another bride on here is doing. I'm using this picture as my inspiration:

Ladies, here are answers to your questions. - Picture frame for sand ceremony: You can find this kind of picture frame anywhere. I saw so many places that carry them ( Hobby Lobby, Meijers...). It's a wooden frame so my dad drilled a big hole on top and we bought a funnel from Michaels to pour the sand into. - Reception Location: We had it at the Seaside Grill. This was a perfect location because the resort has so many parties that you would want a separation from the other events (noise issue). It also gets really windy at night so there is a potential for sand to get into your food if you have it outdoors on the beach or pool deck. We originally wanted the pool deck but they messed up and gave it to someone else by mistake. I threw a fit and got our travel agent involved so we ended up getting the Seaside Grill for free. It would have cost $15 per person + 11% tax. - Groom & Groomsmen suits: I live in New York so we bought them from an Italian suite store which we just ran into randomly. We got lucky because we purchased them during the winter so they had a major clearance. $1,200 suits reduced to $300 so we bought 6 of them. If you are in Manhattan, let me know and I will give you the address. I believe they still carry them. Not sure what the color is..I think it's cream leaning toward the yellow side.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
