Wow you made these? They came out great! Its good to know that I can go barefoot as planned. I love the "I Do" stickers...I don't have my shoes yet, but I have my rhinestone stickers lol (bought mine @ Michael's)

I was married at DRC in October. Most of the ceremonies were in the late afternoon and the sand was not hot. I was barefoot for the ceremony ( do not get a pedicure in spa...it is not like the states pedicures..great manicure) I had beautiful italian shoes...yep didn't wear them for more than 5 minutes..almost broke a ankle in the slats of the deck.

Oh no, really?! That's what I was afraid of (deck)...at least your shoes looked nice in pics, right? Lol

I've actually read that about the pedicures as well, and also the french manicures there. I remember one girl saying it came out atrocious. I think I'll schedule my mani/pedi a few days before we leave...

Thanks for the tip on the sand...I'm getting married in Dec so it shouldn't be an issue for us either.

          Hey Lily,

I haven't made it out to Michaels yet but that sounds like a cute idea.  I've asked several past brides and they said they all wore heels.  They also mentioned that the deck was heel compatible:)

Actually, Michael's (craft store) has this "inspiration" binder displayed in their wedding aisle, and there's a picture of a basket with flips flops for your guests to take labeled Sm, Med, or Lg. I think its such a cute idea...maybe white for girls and black for the guys? (Our colors are yellow & gray, but I don't know if it would be nice to force all the women to wear yellow (?) I had thought about finding out everyone's shoe size, but honestly that sounds like too much work, lol. I figured I'll get the most common sizes, like 7-9 (women), with a few smaller and bigger sizes. The sign on the basket reads "Dancing the night away" or "Dancing shoes"...Love it!

Hi Sharon, yea, I think I'm definitely wearing heels, even if it's just for a little while, then switch to flip flops. I want nice wedding shoes for the pics!

Fortunately (unfortunate for my wallet), I work near a Michael's, and lets just say, the girls in there know me by name, haha...

Allison, your wedding was beautiful! It's awesome that they upgraded you-that seems like another thing that's hit or miss (dependent on capacity i guess). Some brides get offered the upgrade and some don't. That stinks about your guests getting sick- I'd feel terrible even though you have no control over it. Hopefully they take the reviews into account and fix that asap.

If you don't mind me asking, did you get your hair done at the spa? It came out gorgeous!

Also, did you ask for or pay extra for the runner and the seashells on the sides? I really like the way it looks. Oh and where did you get the starfish and flower flip flops...I love those too!

              Congrats on your gorgeous wedding!

I took the advice from past brides and didnt let myself stress about details ,and lack of communication from dreams and they were right everything is perfect in the end.  I went expecting to have tons of add ons and uprade in decor and Ana didnt have any to offer me...which is a good thing. My wedding was beautiful and I got to save my money!  Everything was pefect I wont repeat all the same stuff other brides said. My only negative issue was the sound system guy was sooooo bad, so bad that I had to laugh because it was so ridiculous.  I made written notes for him and even went and talked to him during cocktail hour and he still messed it all up and I wound up workiing my own ipod during wedding.  I had to pay 550 bucks for him and I was the one running the playlist!  No guests noticed and it went great.  Please be careful alot of our group were getting sick, they ate alot of seafood be careful with the seared tuna, and cerviche shrimp these things are partially cooked.  The good news is the sickness only lasts 8hrs so quick moving but very painful for guests.  Hopefully Dreams gets this worked out soon I see on tripadvisor lots of have gotten sick recently.  They upgraded our honeymoon suite to a master suite for free which was amazing! Lots of extra room to entertain in.  Here is a link to my slide show. Anel was amazing! I was freaking out pre wedding jitters when she got there and she still managed to get great pics of me.  Let me know if you have any questions http://110311cointot...ephotos.com.mx/

TigerLily, Thank you for your kind words :)  The runner and shells and starfish on asle was included in the package.  The shells and starfish you see on the reception tables I brought with me..I was scared to take starfish thru customs so I only brought a small bag incase I lost them, and we never got stopped in customs all my bags got the green light and off we were..now im kickign myself I didnt bring more!  I think the room is based on availabilty and maybe on the package you chose? I got my hair done at the spa by Veronica and she did a great job , but I took a picture of Carrie Underwood with her hair down and she did it too flat to my head so when i got back to the room I took out what Veronica did and poofed my hair up and put my own hair clip and flower in , but she did all the curls it looks awesome in pics...She did my makeup also and at first I panicked because she did red eyeshadow!!! I was like what the heck who has red eyes on their wedding day, but Im glad I kept it becaue as you can see it turned out nice in the pictures.  My bridesmaids eyes looked amazing they had a blue color done.  The starfish flipflops I made...found a starfish and glued them on flip flops for bridesmaids and flower girls.  My flipflops with flower I got at DSW over a year ago. Before I even bought my dress :)

Thanks for all the info Allison : ) I was wondering about bringing shells through customs, at least you didnt get stopped...my luck, I'll have a giant red light!

I think if I saw red eyeshadow I'd start panicking too, lol, but you're right...your hair and makeup came out great! I'm glad to hear they do a good job, I was planning on using them as well.

Oh and thanks for the tip on the flip flops, I may have to diy these myself too!
