Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

We booked Ivan in May also.  Ay yay yay....  I hope everything works out. Before Ana left, she called my travel agent and assured her that everything we had already agreed to would be honored. I'm going to try not to worry about it.  If anyone hears more updates, please write a post about it. Thanks!!!  Hopefully Ivan will work things out with Gabriela this week.

Is this going to be okay with the new wedding coordinators?

I'm not 100% sure, but from my understanding, you can bring your own photographer as long as they are guests at the resort.  Otherwise, you will have to pay an outside vendor fee.

Girls - I heard from Ivan.  He said all DJ services booked through Ana and Yazmin will still be honored.  Not sure what's happening in the future....that's probably what he's meeting with Gabriela about - and maybe to confirm everything that's already booked.  Try not to freak out!!

I heard from both Ivan and Gabriela - looks like everything Ana had confirmed will be honored! YAY!

As for the outside photographer, I had told Ana back in September of last year that I would not book the resort unless I could bring Elizabeth Medina and she wrote me an email that said "I will make that exception for you".  So I believe you're right, if they're guests at the resort (you're bringing them from home) it's not an issue, but if you're bringing someone in that's local (or somewhat local) - I would check and get permission before putting a deposit down on the photographer.

Yes, this is just fine. You don't have to use the resort photographers.

And as someone else mentioned, it's only if you are bringing in someone local for the day that there seems to be any issue.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
