Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Does anyone happen to know if the lounge area (by Desire's, I belive -- with the white lounge chair seating) is open for anyone to use.  Or do you have to have a reservation of some type there.  I wouldn't be surprised if there are costs associated with it, but I thought I would check ;)  We are hoping to find a place for cocktails to welcome everyone.  Thanks!

As of now, the only things I can think of that we are bringing are potentially some tool for making bows on the chairs, as well as some rose petals for the aisle.  Everything else will be fresh flowers.  We aren't doing much in terms of decor since we are just having dinner in one of the restaurants for the reception.  But if I think of anything else that I can leave behind, I will let you ladies know!!

Speaking of chairs, Ana says that there are chairs with the white covers and garden chairs available.  I know what the white ones look like, but does anyone know what the garden chairs look like?  Also, do we have any idea of dimensions so that I know what to plan for the tooling?  I can ask Ana, but I'm sure you all know that it will be difficult to get a response.  Thanks!

Boo & Chelsey  Are wedding are all aroudn the same time.  My colors are orange/fucshia/white and hmm I can always add a bit of blue?  let me know what you have there and i wont buy and will split the cost with you!  I arrive to DRC in the AM and we can always meet up that morning????

As for the projector..  Ana must check this site because she emailed me the SAME day to say the projector is now 500.00 to rent?  This is CRAZy..  i have heard 3 diff prices.  180  500 and 650?????  I would only use it for 15 mins!  I wanted to make a video with our wedding song and use people that were at the wedding wedding pictures.. but I guess I wont be doing that. I bought a 59.00 projector at marshalls but returned it because I decided its one more thing to carry down to mexico!

Anyway  girls let me know what you are doing.. I also contacted decocancun and they gave me some prices for decor and candles. instead of paying 200 to DRC for just hanging paper lanterns I might just spend the 300 with deco and do that..  let me know your thoughts!

find me on facebook   jfazzina@aol.com    cant believe  its less than 3 months away.  Did you all send your invites out yet???  Yikes  i am just finishing them up this wkd and i love love love them!  An idea about the candles....  has anyone heard of the paper you can wrap around the candles for decoration..  in martha stewarts book,,  I am thinking of doing that so the candle wont blow out plus it will make for a pretty table setting.. I have the idea I just have to work with my graphic deisgner..  starfish and pinwheels that are on my table cards and invites...  hmm what do you think?  off to work  talk later!

How is this process being handled with Ana do you just wait to see what place is open and try to get sitted with your group? Is there a limit of people? I know there is a extra charge but never really got any straight answers from Ana. My guest list is going down and I hate to spend so much money at all inclusive resort for just 20 guest. If we could all sit together and eat then go to the sports lounge afterwards.

Another question sorry about will the lounge be open on the weekends and for how long?

Sorry so many questions if you have had a site visit and know any of these answers please let me know Thanks....

Hey Megan, I just saw your post.  Have you decided to just have your reception at one of the restaurants?  This is what I am doing, but I have about 30-40 guests.  Ana said that they will not take reservations, but you can go there and try to get seating close to each other.  Also, she said that they will have your cake, etc. there for you if you let them know where you are going ahead of time.  And I am going to take our flowers from the ceremony to the restaurant for a simple table decoration (Ana okayed this).

The only issue I am having is that most of the "nicer" restaurants are only open at night and our wedding is at 11 AM.  I don't really want to tie up our guests all day, so I'm thinking about having our reception at the Seaside Grill or Oceana.  Does anyone have advice?  Has anyone been to the resort, and know if either of these restaurants can accommodate?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
