GREAT FIND AT MICHAELS- Ladies I just wanted to let you know I have found shimmer luggage tags, passport covers, memo pads w picsframe, and cosmetic bags.. for a great price.. Time is running out as they are on sale at 70% off and the tag should say SHIMMER FUN?? ( I got them in silver, gold, bronze, and brown metallic) you have to look through- dont ask the attendants they say they dont have them and they are there! I have gone to 4 stores and have almost 50 of each.. except for passport covers only got 22 for bridal party and parents. They were between .30 - .90 each.... They are really nice..

We also went through them to charter the transportation and they provided a really nice comfy bus. It was almost like a party bus because we all had drinks in hand from the lobby bar. Just a really fun night!
Can you tell me how much it ran you? I am interested in doing this! How many people did you have?

I was also thinking of dong this instead of a rehearsal dinner. Do you mind me asking how much it was and how many people you had? Thanks so much!

Question for those of you who have already been, and did a symbolic ceremony (you got married legally at home before or after you went): did you still do a signing at your ceremony (like did it look legal)?

I'm wondering whether guests will know that it isn't the real deal, and I'm also wondering if I should choose some music to play while the "papers are signed" since I think that normally you would do this.

Is it 1200 for dj and 600 for sound system?

Thanks,

Cathy

The sound system is $180/hr (Speakers, Microphone, CD Player, Technician).
Doremixx is $300/hr.

I keep going back and forth on this one, too. I do have Doremixx reserved and I like the idea of having someone to kind of get the party started and keep it going. I am wondering if the "technician" that is included with the rental of the sound system does any kind of DJ-ing. Or, does he just stand there and make sure the ipod is running correctly?? Anyone out there that rented the sound system and just did their own music that can shed some light on this topic?
It would be nice to save a little money in this department.

We are using Ivan from Doremixx he has been very responsive - sorry to mix the pot but with the DJ you also get extra lighting (we are doing it on the deck and wanted extra lighting anyway) you get 2 things of cold fireworks (great pictures of first dance, etc) plus props, cordless michrophone (I wanted this for speeches during dinner, etc.) plus props like glow sticks, massive baloons, etc. (this stuff is easy enough to pick up cheap at a Michaels etc, but again one less thing to worry about)

Happy planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
