@@nattiegams325 - It has been a crazy two months for the fiance and I! We moved from St. Louis to Denver this past Sunday! Needless to say, I've taken a few steps back from wedding planning. But, we are almost settled (I don't start work for another week) so I'm starting to get wedding-brain again.

Do you feel more or less stressed as your wedding month approaches? Have you started finalizing? Tell me everything!

@@pddcmc Oh wow a move just a few months before the wedding?! That's very exciting though, I've never been to Denver but it seems like a great place especially if you love the outdoors :-)

I am much more stressed now. When I first started planning the wedding it was high stress with finding a resort and getting the contract taken care of, then things settled for a couple months, then they got crazy again with STDs, invites, travel agents, and finding the dress, then they settled down again! But starting about a month ago, things have gotten much more stressful. Claudia and I have exchanged the planner form a few times and I'm also dealing with getting things for the OOT bags, ordering things from vistaprint (menus, tags for maracas, itineraries etc). It's just a lot at once but things that really couldn't be done until I had a bettter vision of the wedding...aka now.

But I have complete faith in Claudia that everything will be perfect! We are 74 days from wedding day and 69 days from leaving for DRC! It'll be here so quickly!

@@nattiegams325 - Yes, a little more than 5 months before the wedding! Talk about stressful! We relocated for Jake's job, but we absolutely love it here! The weather is gorgeous, even when it is cold because it doesn't feel as cold as the Midwest's cold, if that makes sense.

Goodness, what sort of things did you change on your wedding planner form? Was is mostly details that you had envisioned? I haven't touched mine in months...but, I still have time. (I believe they asked us to email it back about 3 months before the wedding date?)

As far as ordering things, yeah, I wish I could get those things done sooner than later, but as you mentioned, it can't be done until numbers are finalized.

I'm stressing a little over people booking, or lack thereof... guests have until Dec 30th (our TA isn't in the office on Wed.)...and it appears that many are waiting until then. BUT, I am also a little concerned that maybe people have forgotten because invites went out so early... the FI really wants me to send out a reminder, but I don't want to badger or pressure people since we sent something out November 1st. What do you think??

When did you get your WC assigned to you?

One more thing, if anyone has contacts out in Denver who have experience with dress alterations, please let me know. I went to a holiday crafting party and brunch with some of my sorority sisters this past weekend, and they gave me some names, but I just want to have plenty of options...because, well, we are new to the city and getting my dress altered is a pretty big deal! Thanks! && happy planning!

Jumping in, but I highly recommend sending a reminder or two. Lots of people get busy with life and totally forget then throw in Christmas and it's just not on the top of their list. We sent 2 reminders and most

People thanked us for the reminder.

@@pddcmc I'm having the same issue about not feeling like I want to pressure people...They just got their invitations and have to have a 50% deposit in my 12/31 so I'm waiting til then to see if I need to send another reminder. But it's so hard because you dont want to rush people!

Hopefully, everyone we are expecting will book soon!! :)

I'm so anxious for the coordinator to contact me. I know the paperwork says 3 months prior to the wedding date but I thought I read on here that sometimes she contacts us earlier. Otherwise, I will see her next month at my site visit.

@@Lbrennan0 North beach is more private. If you're looking at the ocean from the hotel, it is on the left side. The south beach is on the right. They are both very nice, but more weddings happen at the north beach. Neither is completely private. There will be people in their bathing suits setting up shop on the lounge chairs to watch! But everyone is very respectful . The workers will clear the sea grass away so you don't see it in pictures and the wedding staff shoo's away people from walking behind the ceremony (makes them walk around).

@@pddcmc Yes, all the details on the wedding planner form have changed especially when you see how they add up on the budget planner. You don't want a generic wedding so the more you plan they more they suggest ways to customize it so things keep changing!

I was assigned my wedding planner, Claudia Solis, back in September (5 months prior) because I went for another site visit. We talked quite a bit back then in person and via email, but then we went about 2 months without talking and mid November she emailed me and let me know to email the planner whenever I had it. So I'm sure your planner will contact you in January!

Since then, we've gone back and forth with it twice.  I had lots of Qs about decor (like the difference in size of the medium vs large flower arrangements, reception table decor, etc).

We had a few procrastinators who didn't book until the last minute, and we had one cancellation. Final guest count is 44 including me and Bill...2 kids and 42 adults. Our reminders were via our website and word of mouth.

On the to-do list for this weekend: Wedding bands (eeee!), prep pre-wedding letters/CDs, and maybe make the table numbers!

@@nattiegams325 Thanks for the response! Very helpful!

So I am defiantly bringing my own table cloths and chair bows (cuts the price in half). Has anyone had luck finding the LED lights for under the tables? I know I can find them somewhere for cheaper then $50 each!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
