Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Booked our wedding date for December 6, 2014 and just moved the time to 3pm Ceremony and 5pm Reception. Thinking about also bringing our own photographer or friend who is a photographer even though we are on the Ultimate Package. With the Ultimate Package how long do you get the photographer for? Who have you used?

Please help!

Hi Hanhi,

Congrats! My wedding is in January and I have the same ceremony and reception times. The resort photographer you get for 1 hour with the dreams ultimate package and you get 50 pictures. You can add additional hours but the number of pictures you get don't change. You can however add a package from their catalogue in the Dreams wedding guide, see below.

PHOTOS & VIDEO
Standard Packages
Package 1: 1 hr coverage, 40 images in a cd, photo book and online slideshow $699
COVERAGE: Ceremony and 30 min photo session.

Package 2: 3 hrs coverage, 60 images in a cd, photo book and online slideshow $950
COVERAGE: Getting ready, ceremony, photo session and cocktail.
SUGGESTED TIME TO START THE COVERAGE: 1 hour prior to the ceremony

Package 3: up to 6 hrs coverage, 100 images in a cd, photo book and online slideshow $ 1150
COVERAGE: Getting ready, ceremony, photo session, cocktail (can be switched for a longer photo
session) and reception (first dance, cake, and toasts.)
SUGGESTED TIME TO START THE COVERAGE: 1 hour prior to the ceremony

Package 4:Complete coverage, 200 images in a cd, photo book and online slideshow $1599
COVERAGE: Rehearsal dinner (in case there is one schedule, 30 min. service), FULL
COVERAGE on the wedding day up to 6 hours and on location TRASH THE DRESS.
SUGGESTED TIME TO START THE COVERAGE: 1 hour prior to the ceremony
ALL ABOVE PACKAGES INCLUDE 40 PAGES HARD COVER PHOTO BOOK

So even if you upgrade to package 3 you only get 100 images. I wanted more than that and someone who does this for a living.  I decided to go with an outside photographer. I read a bunch of reviews and went with the one my wedding planner suggested. I used weddingwire for reviews and ended up booking Dean Sanderson. He seems to fit with us and I love his style of photography. I found it important to look at the images photographers took in order to see what I wanted. I can let you know after my wedding how it went.

Hello,

I am new to BDW. My fiance and I are planning on having our wedding at the DRC Resort on November 11, 2014. So I looked at so samples of the photographers and videographers work and was not in love. I want to looked for my own photographer and videographer to bring into the resort. However the wedding reservations person said that there is a supplment fee to do that ($150 for photographers, $300 for videographer). That is $450 that could be spent elsewhere. Is there anyway to get around this fee? Has anyone ever hired outside the resort? Did you pay a fee? Can the fee be waived? Be advise. Thank you

Hi!

I've seen some files that previous brides have posted for others to use as a template. I was trying to save one but it wouldn't allow me to. Any recommedations or help?

I'm new to all this as well. I've asked around about this and found some threads. What my fiance and I decided to do was to pay a friend's travel expense (planning to go to wedding already; who's also a photographer) and have him there to photograph the wedding ceremony and reception. Brides have told me I wouldn't have to pay the vendor fee since it will be a friend not a vendor from mexico.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
