Hello ladies, I am so thankful I found this web site. I am newly engaged and just started the whole planning process. I really love the gazebo at dreams cancun and want to lock my date. My only question is have any of you girls got married in march?? What time is sunset?? I would really like a day to sunset ceremony.. The pictures of the sunset backdrop is beautiful. Can anyone give my advice??

we are doing assigned seating because there is almost 50 people and not everyone knows eachother so we dont want people to feel awkward. fiance and i are sitting alone and then our bridal party is actually going to spread out and sitting with their spouses and friends. my bridesmaids are my family and his groomsmen are his friends so it works out better to jus seperate everyone and put them with their friends/family.

You can pretty much decide everything there. But I would have an idea of what you want. I knew what kind of flowers I wanted and I had already told her ahead of time. If I wanted to change, I could have. BUT, Lorena had NO examples to show me of anything! Luckily I had already seen the lighting options ahead of time so I was pretty sure I wanted the bamboo poles, but I was just expecting some sort of book with all of the options when we arrived. I had thought I might want the flowers for the gazebo and just planned on asking about that when I got there. I was overwhelmed and forgot to ask about it, and because there was no list or book or anything to look at I forgot. But, literally everything you can decide when you get there... just have a list written down of everything you want to go over with her so you dont forget anything like I did.

If you can't get in touch with the videographer, I would tell Lorena that you possibly want to hire them for the entire night and that you HAVE to meet with them before the wedding. She could probably get in touch with them for you. If you sent the DJ your song list, he will have everything downloaded for you and let you listen to it to make sure he has the songs right.  And you can meet with the minister once you are there too to pick all the readings and vows.

I know it's stressful with no responses. But I promise they make everything wonderful. And they all go out of their way to make you happy. Not just the wedding staff, everyone at the resort.

thank you for all of your help. this made me feel better. i havent heard back from lorena in 2 weeks now so i dont see how with less than 5 weeks left i could possibly figure everything out. it kind of bothers me though also because she didnt really take interest until the 2-3 month mark and now with weeks in between emails theres not enough time. i was willing to work on it all months ago lol but they keep telling you not to worry. i appreciate your help ;) i am printing all emails between us and i will bring down the brochures with everything i want circled so that it is organized ;)

Do you mind me asking if you had to pay extra to use the seaside Grill?

Yes, we had to pay $1146.60 extra to use the Seaside Grill. We're not EXACTLY sure how she got that number but when we asked to break it down, she just said that's the fee haha. From my understanding, it is supposed to be $35 + 11% tax + 15% service fee per person to close down a restaurant - it was like $100 off when we calculated it out based on our number of guests. But I had my heart set on that location and it was so worth it. It was very private compared to the pool deck and not sandy at all which the pool deck can be if there is wind. It was perfect for our size wedding too.

I am getting so close and so nervous.... i just started working on my OOT bags ;) Do you guys think its bad if i save money and order cheaper bags like sort of like paper bags with handles and attach a cute tag to them ? I am putting a hangover kit inside, some candy, a koozie, and a t shirt that says something funny, so i figured maybe i could cheap out on the bag little lol

also- cesar finally emailed me back and said we are all set to go for the wedding..... he said he will bring props but not to tell Lorena because she will charge me ( sort of think thats ridiculous because he is not cheap and most djs provide a few small props)lol he also said theres an extra fee for cold fireworks- does anyone know what this is? When I asked him about certain music we like he said of course he knows it and not to worry.... is this really the case? the music is soooo important to me!

and i am curious if anyone had a TV set up near the dj where they displayed pictures ? we want to do something in memory of people who have passed away and thought a tv going with pictures throughout the night would be great. not sure i have seen this yet.

Kelly Kellz- did u post a review ? id love to see it if u did.

and lastly, i  dont think i am going to pay for my bridesmaids hair because i am getting them something else also so how much did your girls pay to get their hair done ?

                    thanx everyone!!!!!!!!!!!

                    Hi Emily,

I am in the same boat as you when it comes to the DJ. I too think that music is super important but I am concerned the DJ is not familiar with my style of music (even though he says he is). My family is of Caribbean descent and we would like to hear reggae/dancehall, soca/Calypso, r&b, hip hop and some pop. As my wedding date gets closer, I am getting more and more anxious about the music and other details of our wedding.

Hi everyone - I had posted earlier asking about flowergirl baskets...  I ended up emailing Gaby about it, and actually heard back, so I wanted to post in case it would help anyone.  She said that they will provide a basket with the petals that you can use and give back, or you can bring your own if you'd prefer.  For a flowergirl basket with rose petals, the charge is $25.
