Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Recommended Posts

I got an email from Ana today and she attached a photo of a cake and some bouquet options. The photo of the cake had Cake Gold in the title but was only a single tier cake and was quite small. I assume that this is just the standard cake and the actual cake options on the Silver and Gold packages are similar to that on the Dreams Puerto Aventuras Resort site.

I can see that there are going to be some misunderstandings along with way with Ana as I asked her a simple question but got an answer I didn't really understand but hey, everything will be fine when we all meet her to finalise our weddings.

Yeah, I've had some communication issues with her as well and it takes her forever to get back to me. I want to get my contract already so I can go over it and send it back. I emailed the sales department twice already asking to confirm the rooms are held for me since I'm waiting on them. I hear alot of brides say communication wasn't so hot when trying to plan but once they got there, the wedding coordinators were great. So I'm hopeful.

that's true, and I hear that the Claudia photographer group is really good too! I have seen some photo's from other brides on their wedding reviews.

So annoying that you cannot open things, eh? This is a new document that I have not seen before. She also sent some photos of lounge furniture that they can rent if anyone is thinking of doing a lounge type reception/gathering

Hi everyone! I am new here but I am also getting married at Dreams Riviera Cancun. I haven't received a contract yet but Ana is supposed to be holding a date for me in February 2010. I think I am having the same communication issues :) It's nice that everyone can share their information here!

Great news on the photographers!! Does anyone know the names of the photographers that are allowed.. Claudia is not open on my date so I was going to use Cecilia Dumas.. Any word on her?? I sent Ana an email but we all know how long that can take for her to get to us.. Has anyone else had a real contract yet?? She keeps saying that my date is on hold and she will get back to me with the wedding details.. This makes me so nervous!!!

We don't want to make a big deal of the legal ceremony at all....just to make it seem as though the beach ceremony is the "real" thing. Do you happen to know if the resort requires a marriage certificate in order to have a symbolic ceremony. I have heard that some resorts require this and therefore we would have to do the legal ceremony before going to Mexico. Just wondering if anyone has looked into this yet.
I also would like to have a symbolic ceremony instead of a legal one. I was wondering who does the ceremony and would they let you have your own officiant (someone who is not affiliated with the resort)?

Hi Laura,
I think you can bring your own officiant in but you would have to pay the day-pass for the person. Double check with Ana though because it seems that the regulations at the other three Dreams resorts in the MR have different rules from DRC.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
