I can't shake the feeling that I haven't yet found the PERFECT fit for ceremony and reception and I know I'm incredibly picky, which is why we're flying down to see them Nov 20 -23. Wait, that's not when your wedding is, is it?! I'm still wondering if there are ceremony options somewhere in Puerto Morelos (but not at a different resort although I LOVE LOVE LOVE Secrets' gazebo, but it's just not an option).

It'll all come together on your day and everyone will have a blast...especially you and your man! :)

Yeah we are November 19th, too bad you arent there the day before. There are a number of options, there is the Maroma Marina (I think that that is what its called). Good luck with your hunt!

I'm about 6 months out from my wedding and i would really like to makes sure i have my budget set...don't want to get to dreams and be off by 1000's but as everyone knows it's so hard to get answers from the WC's.

The DJ that DRC uses is Doremixx, right? do i have to make sure i book him ahead of time on my own or with the WC do that and the cost is $300 per hour?

Past brides or even current brides planning right now is it true you can sort of negotiate prices for some things.

and does anyone know if i wanted different chairs for the reception (the chairs that are in the photo of the gazebo ceremony set up) is that extra per chair.

for the brides that used EW or Deco Cancun is it cheaper to go through them for ceremony and reception decor.

Sorry for some many questions...just figured i might be able to get answers from the forum since i haven't heard from DRC.  Thanks!

Hey girlie - we booked Ivan aka DJ DooRemix officially through the WC.  I touched base with him months before ( Ana days) trying to book but 1) he didn't have his 2011 rates & 2) by the time he did, the protocol was to book thru the DRC WC. Gaby confirmed he had been added to our contract about a month or so ago when she assigned me my WC. $300 p/h it is - but by the time you add in tip and taxes $350 p/h may be a more accurate assessment.  We ordered the light up dance floor which looks like its going to be another $700 dollars :-s The whole process seems to be nickle and dime. Save you something in one place to charge you something ridiculous in another :-s..  The chair pictured on the site with the gazebo are $10 ea. I believe.  I haven't done any comparisons but were working with Ana @ Deco and she is phenomenal.  The prices seem quite fair too. Good luck babe!

What are you guys doing for your reception food, I'm less than 3 weeks out and still have no clue. I was hoping to do a buffet since I'm not a fan of the sitdown dinner options (groom & I don't eat seafood!) but apparently I can't since i'm under 40 people.

We had the buffet for our wedding in August and it was amazing!!!  Yazmin was our coordinator at the time and she let us mix and match from each of the three buffet options (mexican, carribean, and BBQ).  That made us happy and the food was delicious!

Brooke...I got married in August and we used the deck in between the pool and the beach.  It was amazing...it was so private and had a great view of both the beach and pool.  I definitely recommend that!

Thank you so much for the info!   Congratulations!!

My contract has the deck in it so I will stick with it!  Do you happen to have any pics you can share?  It's so hard planning when you haven't been to the site.  We're getting married in June _ I think I want to have the cocktail hour on the Desires terrace. I heard that is pretty private. If you have any other comments please let us brides know!!

Hey Ladies!  We got married at Dreams Riviera Cancun on Oct 24th-- and are just having our last night sad.gif on our honeymoon at Secrets Maroma.  I will do a FULL recap when I get home but I had to get on here to tell you a couple quick things.... #1-- GABY IS THE BEST!!  I was one of the biggest worriers when I didn't hear back fast and etc...but when your wedding gets close, you will... and when you get there-- OMG-- words just cannot describe how amazing Gaby and her team work for you!  She really does work so hard!  Some days I see her up and working at 8am and then still going at 11pm that night... and she does everything PERFECT how you want it and is a pleasure to work with.  We took a cab back there today to say goodbye to her and give her a gift!!  #2--  Dreams is the best place to get married.  We took 40 of our closest friends and family and they all had the best time as did we.  In fact we are all so so sad that it is over!  There is a sense of "home" at Dreams and everyone is so nice and it is smaller and you just get to know everyone... it is perfect!   I will do a FULL recap next week-- but rest assured everything at Dreams is phenominal-- you will love it....in fact-- we like it WAY more than we do Secrets Maroma (the beach is better here-- but other than that-- Dreams is hands down better for us)....  More to come-- Robyn :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
