Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Hey ladies - since I've had some requests for it - I'm attaching my diagram.  We had a cigar roller there as well - so that's what the extra table is off to the side.

The tables on the left side of the diagram are next to the dj and his speakers - so I would suggest that if you have older people coming - put them on the right side.

We didn't feel tight at all, tons of room - the deck can hold 200 people.  Cocktail hour was at the Desire's lounge - it was nice for me because Desire's is air conditioned and I could stand inside while the girls bustled my dress...and I had 18 bustles :) :)

Hey ladies -my ceremony was at 5:30 and I was paranoid about hair so I scheduled myself, my 3 bridesmaids, flower girl and mother of the groom starting at 1:30 and we finished at 3pm - and two of the girls had their hair washed, dried and then styled.  The women in the salon work pretty fast and they do a great job.  We also brought our own makeup to the salon and they let us run wild in there and do our makeup so by 3pm we were ready to go back to the room and get dressed and take pictures.

I heard from the new Ana @ DRC today. She said she is my WC. I am a little concerned as she asked me to pick locations for ceremony, cocktails and reception....even though I already gave them to the old Ana!  Also she said it would be $15pp +11% + 15%  to have a rehearsal dinner at El Patio (this is not a private event, just a space to have my group of 35 people together).

Our wedding is at 4pm also and I am getting my hair done at 1pm.  My bridesmaids and my mom and his mom are all getting their hair done at 11:30.  My future sister  in law is doing my makeup after that 1pm.  She is a wedding photographer herself and said to allow at least 30-45 minutes to just get into you wedding dress, so I wanted to make sure to have enough time!!  We are doing alot of pictures before the wedding too.  Like me and my bridesmaids and my fiance and his groomsmen.  We are not seeing eachother before walking down the isle though.

Ladies

I know this may be a weird questions, But i am one of those who's choosing to do my own hair because I'm a hairstylist, and well my trust level with other stylists isn't that high lol.. but I was checking some pre-wedding checklists on google and it mention to check with your resort to make sure they have normal outlets in the rooms to plug stuff in? Otherwise you may need a converter?

Has anyone heard of this, or any brides who've already married at Dreams Riviera Cancun- can you tell me if they have "normal outlets?" lol

I'd appreciate any response!!

Yes we are using mishka, I am having her design a tag and we will just fill in the appropriate names when we get to the resort. The maracas will then all be laid out at the reception on an "escort card" table and the tags will tell each guest where to sit.

    • we ended up using Facebook messenger when we were in Mexico - the hotel had free wifi and at least 1 person from each family/couple had FB on their phone already - it was pretty easy to communicate among guests "hey, we're heading to the beach bbq for lunch." or "everyone is hanging at the small pool today".  a plus was that some people tried to get a hold of me via FB on the day of the wedding and I was totally not checking my phone - they were asking if the wedding was outside given the rain forecast, thankful my mom, MOH and a few other friends were on the group and could respond for me :)

    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
    • I’m getting married in six months to my foreign girlfriend. I was advised by a friend that one of the things I need to do before saying I do is to get a prenuptial agreement. Basically it’s supposed to protect my assets and properties in case my relationship with my future wife goes down the drain. I don’t know though if this is an acceptable practice when marrying Kiev ladies. I don’t want to do it if it would be insulting on her end. I need advice on this. Please help me.
