Ana told me that there would be no outside vendor fee for my photographer because they will only be there 3 hours. I am using Claudia for the wedding and Juan for a TTD a few days later. By purchasing the smaller time packages, neither require a food pass so Ana said I would not have to pay the vendor fee. I hope Gabby keeps Ana's word! I have it in writting so I hope she will!

Oh then don't even worry! Gaby is going along with everything that Ana committed to - and that would make sense if they're only there for a few hours and not the whole day they won't charge you for the day pass fee.

I am getting married Oct 18 2010.  I just got the price quote from the DJ for the recpetion.  $1000 for 3 hours!! Did anyone else get this high of a price.  That's crazy no??  Has anyone used the IPOD docking station maybe a BOSE, how was the sound??

And do they always charge extra for the Welcome dinner too??

As for using them as a second photographer - I'd double check on that - most photographers have in their contracts that they have to be the only professional photographer at the wedding.

Since our photog is staying at the resort with us, all that other stuff is included: rehearsal dinner, TTD, etc. So I really have no need for any other photography. I didn't think that it would work out for them to act as "second" photographer, so we will likely just not use the resort photogs at all.

Anyone happen to know who the new vendor for flowers is?

I contaced by e-mail Maya Diseno Florist (from a previous bride who posted their website) and i got an email back stating they were no longer the florist for dreams.

The examples of flowers Gabriela sent me for my package are not pretty or tropical at all =( and I want to see if i can contact the vendor to see what flowers will in season in January, and maybe get a better bouquet than in the pics she sent.

Thanks!

That's about the same quote I got. DJ was $300/hour plus tax and the alternative was to rent a sound system which is $180/hour plus tax. Either way, seems kinda pricey but I don't think there's any other alternatives. Gaby said that the sound system is pretty much necessary for the ceremony if you want anyone to hear. I only have 30 people in my party so far and she recommended it for the ceremony.

As far as the welcome dinner / rehearsal dinner... I got the same response. Here's what she told me: We donâ€t make reservations for any of our restaurants and it is first come first serve, in order for you to have your group all together in one area of the restaurant, we will need to make a reservation and a set menu for you, or if you prefer no reservations will be done for your group and you can arrive at the time you want, but we can not guarantee that you will all be seating together in the same area, since we will have other guests there.

All these extras are adding up!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
