Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Recommended Posts

Surprises of surprises... Ana emailed ME last week! she said she needed a head count and sent me back an updated contract.

I've decided to drop the dj sad.gif we will only have about 18 people including us so it doesn't really justify the cost. I already had an extensive list of music that I wanted the dj to play but I'll just throw it on an iPod and the special songs on a cd.

For those ladies that were married here... how did you pack your dress? I have a full size dress (not a "destination" dress) and I'm thinking of just putting it in a suitcase and sending it back with my parents. Did you just take is a a carry on or pack it up?

I'm so excited! we leave in 42 days...

I hear that, or even a beach weekend!!! I booked the actual wedding through Dreams, Ana. I actually went and had a site visit the week after it opened and I had a meeting with her. I booked it while i was there cause i loved it so much. I just submitted a deposit once I got back. My cousin is actually a travel adgent. She is AMAZING! And I am not just saying that cause she is my cousin. A number of friends of ours use her now too cause she is great, She works for Rosenblues Travel Agency, they are located downtown and in Cherry Hill. She is doing all our booking through Apple as well, thats how it works. I just have all my guest contact her and she DOES EVERYTHING! She has been the TA for a number of weddings. If you would like to contact her here is her info. Sharon Gallo sgallo@rvacations.com 1-800-233-3158. Let me know if you need help at all or any information

Hey ladies! I am here at the resort and wanted to let you all know it is perfect!! All the stress over the last year was not worth it!!! I met with Ana this morning and everything is set for Saturday!!! She is amazing, she knows what she is doing. It is surprisingly slow around here, which is good for us. The best thing is the weather.. it is perfect, the breeze off the beach makes this place paradise!!!

Just an FYI.... we did the Love package, are having 38 guests with no cocktail hour, using the resort photographer and iPOD, have 3 bridemaid bouquets and table overlays and the total was just about $3000. MUCH cheaper than we anticipated! After it was all said and done I decided to keep everything simple, afterall, that is why we picked a destination wedding! I will let you all know how it goes after Saturday!!!

Please keep in mind that there are a few photos that were taken with a disposable camera (probably a bad idea) but those look really dark. The cocktail hour and reception were not as dark as they look in these photos. I think the professional photos will come out lighter.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
