Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Recommended Posts

Hey girls. I think I am going to be picking the riviera cancun for sure. The only problems is our any of you worried that the price for your guest is going to be to high? Comparied to other resorts is it about the same price or is it much more. How much are you girls thinking that it would be for a guest to stay for 4 nights in April or May? I know some of you have already booked j/w. I have a travel agent but I think her prices seem kind of high. I though you were supposed to get a good deal with a t.a. but seems to be not working in my favor.

Also are they offering the free wedding still at this resort if you book so many night or guest?

All you need for the free wedding is 5 rooms booked for a minimum of 3 nights.

In terms of a travel agent, I have not used one for about 10 years and I travel a lot. I google the resort name on the net and look at many different web sites. I even look at web sites in foreign currencies to see if that is cheaper.

Thank you Dimenzi

Well I am about to book my wedding at Dreams today. I am so excited but kind of nervous.

The problem is now I have to pick between the different wedding packages. And I am stuck.

I am bringing my own photographer with us so I do not need a photographer. But I do want a reception. And I think we will have about 20 to 30 guest. But it is hard to say b/c you never know what people will do they say one thing and do the other.

Do you think that it would be a option at this dreams to add on extra things like a reception dinner and just choose a cheaper wedding package. I hope this makes sense.

Congratulations Megan! The free wedding package is the basic one, the DREAMS WEDDING IN PARADISE PACKAGE, when you have the 5 rooms booked. You can always start with this package and change to one of the other one's closer to the date. We signed our contract for the dreams wedding in paradise package and were quoted $4000 USD for 40 people. Our wedding contract quote is for exactly what you are asking, cheaper package with the buffet dinner reception. You can also add things like extra decorations, upgraded flowers, almost anything.

Hope this helps in your decision making.

Hi. How did they come to the US$4,000 if you have the Wedding in Paradise package plus the 40 guests? Ana quoted $60 per extra person (including tax and gratuities) on the Love and Ultimate package over 20 guests.

Did you go for the Ultimate package plus an extra 20 guests which would work out at $4,000? I thought the Ultimate package would cost $2760 minus the $799 for the Wedding in Paradise Package plus $60 per additional guest over 20. Is this correct?

Thank you! Congrats to you too! I was also trying to decide about my wedding package...does it get really expensive to add things on to the basic free package? I am asking because there are a few things in the other packages that I don't need, such as the hairstyling and make-up, and possibly the photographer.

Hi everyone,

Okay, so what I know is from what they were offering at the Dreams Tulus resort. Now I worry that each resort has a little bit of their own pricing scheme.

Laura - Not sure how much you can change the pre-packaged weddings (dreams of love and the ultimate) but Ana should be able to help cost compare. You may even be able to swap out certain things for other things, i.e. doing a welcome dinner instead of the 1 hr cocktail hour, or instead of makeup maybe get one of your BM's hair done. I think you have to actually ask for all the changes though and sort of "bargain" for the deal.

Dimenzi - the quote I got from Ana was for the least expensive package (which will be free if over the 5 rooms booked). I think depending on what things I would like in the package it will be more cost effective to do the Dreams of Love package instead. I tried to attach my quote but apparently it is too bighuh.gif? Not sure how that is because it is only 2 pages but if anyone would like to see it just send me a PM.

Sorry Dimenzi, it is early morning where I am and I think I miss-read your message the first time round. Yes, that is how they come up with the wedding package price. And for the other wedding packages they charge for all guests above and beyond the first 20. The $60 pp incl tax and grat sounds about right. I don't think they will minus off the $799 from the other package price. Not sure if you have seen the post I did that is info directly from the Dreams resort for pricing on the wedding packages. I may have more info and if I get anything official about the wedding package pricing I will post it here for everyone.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
