Hey Meagan, I'm getting married on 11/5/12 too! What time are you getting married and where is your ceremony / reception location? I'm sure we will run into each other !

Hi I am getting married at Dreams Riviera Cancun on April 18, 2013. Just wondering about getting out birth certificates and divorce certificate translated into Spanish prior to arriving in Mexico. Most resorts require this for the civil ceremony, however my wedding planner believes she only needs them in English? Worries that they really do need to be translated prior to arrival in Mexico? Also wondering about photography? I want to bring a photographer however the say "no outdoor photographers? And the cake options? Has anyone tried getting a custom cake made by the resort or just stick with their Pre made options? Thanks so much Shauna

Does anyone know if the DJs from Visual Sounds ( the resorts DJ ) can provide TVs/Projectors to have pictures go up during dinner.. etc.. I thought I seen it in the backround of some people pictures but I am not sure. If so how does this work do you basically bring a CD with pictures on it ? Does it cost extra ?

hey girls so i was going back and forth with what the heck was Desire's Terrace . . . there were 2 different photos going around and I knew they were different locations but everyone was calling them both Desire's Terrace so I spoke to Lorena since I was interested in it for the cocktail hour... incase anyone else was curious desire's terrace isnt really available for the cocktail hours anymore because of people leaving drinks on the ledge & throwing cigarette butts.. its located above the kids center so im sure u can understand why! ( although if you ask nicely and make some promises, they may give it to you... ;)) )

here are the pictures and the locations as per Lorena:

THIS IS THE "BALLROOM TERRACE":

Can you pay for the wedding with travelers checks? Does that work like cash or do they prefer credit cards?

I was wondering the same thing? I do not want to take LOADS of cash? However I read on previous posts that some credit cards charge a fee outside the US. Let me know if you hear anything.

I had asked lorena the same question. this was her reply:

"with travelers checks is ok, but you need to fill them out when yoube here, or with credit or debit card (VISA, MASTER CARD or AMERICAN EXPRESS)"

We ended up paying with one of our debit cards. We paid half the balance 2 days before the wedding and remaining balance the day before. We weighed the fee associated with travelers checks with the international fee on our debit card. It was slightly more to use our debit card, but we got airline miles too...rack up some miles for  another trip to Dreams ;)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
