We had to use the Dreams Videographer too because it was in the package but I will honestly say for he cost, there is no comparison.  They cannot compete with the quality of outside vendors.  We used them for our rehearsal and while what they put together was nice, it was not digital HD quality.  It was not shot with a DSLR camera.  If things like that aren't important to you, then I would go with the resort.  We knew we wanted cinematography style in our video which is why we hired Mike Cantarell Films.  It is nice to have the rehearsal video though and if you used them for your wedding I think they would do an okay job, but just be aware the style is vastly different.  If you'd like, compare mikecantarellfilms.com videos with the resorts at www.videowedd.com

:)  Hope I helped!

Megan, your getting married right after me! I'm getting married on the 3rd. I have read that if you show them a picture of what you want they typically can do it and well. I am having a hair trail prior to my wedding day so I can ensure that I like it and it is exactly what I want. I haven't heard many negative things about the spa services. I am leaving my down and curly and hoping for the best!

I think you could upgrade the resorts videographer for 8 hours for like $2400...Mike was $2600 for 5 hours but the quality is soooo much better!

I just contacted him from his site... mikecantarellefilms.com  He also owns Cancunweddingvideo.com but that is a slightly different style.  The first website is more cinematography like.  :)  He was very prompt in responding via his website.

Thank you Lindsey!!!

hair: As far as hair goes im def. wearing my hair up i don't want to risk anything such as humidity, wind, etc. . i think its elegant & its SAFER. most people say they follow pictures pretty well & just to beware they use a LOT of hairspray so be aware of that.

im more indecisive about a veil i bought a cathedral type veil because I was nervous about a short one blowing in my face but im thinking of going "birdcage" now even though I havent seen any on destination wedding brides. is the birdcage look not beachy enough ?  any opinions ? anyone else wear a cathedral type veil on the beach, or birdcage ?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
