we have been starting to think about this as well. i had read on other threads about brides shipping stuff so i am sure it is possible--just pricey. here is a link we have been using to estimate:

Postage Price Calculator

i am concerned about the $300 limit as well. we were looking at buying a bose system Wave Music System ? SoundLink - Bose Wireless Systems - Digital Music Solutions to use for our music. i had read about other brides doing that as well. we were looking at using the speaker there at $180/hr plus taxes for 3hrs which is almost the same price as the bose system. then we would at least have something to show for it at the end! my FI spent a lot of time in mexico and we are now looking at buying supplies down there once we arrive. there is both a costco and and 4 walmarts in cancun, and 3 in playa del carmen. so are going to try buy many of our oot supplies there as well as looking at a speaker. chances are EVERYTHING you purchase in mexico will be WAY cheaper. espeically for the OOT bags, because while you will be bringing all the supplies down with you (and you would have to worry about duties on all of them) you won't be bringing them back to the states with you!

I did not know there was a Costco in Cancun! That is excellent! I was planning on buying several snacks from there and bringing them with in the luggage for the OOT bags. This will make things much easier! The $300 is additional to your personal belongings so I plan on splitting a lot of the OOT bag contents throughout my luggage and my families. I am putting flip flops in the bags so they will pass as personal items.

Anyone start their OOT bags yet... any good ideas?

Hi, my partner and I are planning to marry in Mexico in May 2011 and have two hotels we like, Azul Sensatori and Dreams Riviera Cancun. The Dreams resort looks lovely and we are leaning towards this one. Our UK travel agents have said we can't book until April 2010 so any info and advise about a Dreams wedding would be great! michellemygirl@sky.com

We are not to keen on the gazebo so are thinking a beach wedding would suit us more. Can't wait to see more photos!

If you have a Facebook, Dreams Riviera Cancun has a very interactive page with lots of info and pictures. Not that this forum doesn't give you everything you need ;o) Just an extra way to help you decide.

Hi everyone!

I'm getting married at the paradisus riviera cancun resort in may 2010. Did anyone have a hard time contacting them via email? They don't reply to my emails?

We will all be there on the 8th which is a saturday, but they don't give you that blood test and medical until monday? How long does it take to get the results back?

Thanks for posting the pics of the reception sites!!! That was super helpful-especially since I am not planning on a site visit! I have planned my wedding for 11/08/2010 and have reserved that date with Ana but I'm a bit confused as to how I can send my deposit...she said something about emailing it to her and the billing dept...anyone have more information? Ana seems very nice but I'm sure she is super busy.

I'm new to this site and have a ton of questions! Thanks in advance to anyone with more

info about sending a deposit.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
