Also ladies - Ana sent me some pictures of weddings she did at her last resort (orange and pink only) - so if anyone is interested in seeing a few tablecloth, centerpeice, place setting options - feel free to pm me or post your email and I'll send it...I don't know how to post the pictures on here and it seems like most people can't open attachments anyway.
Thanks for sending me the e-mail

My sentiments exactly chirorach - YIKES! We have already booked our wedding there a while ago for the beginning of June and hope that all the kinks will be worked out by then. A little surprised at the lack of service though, from most reviews I have read I was not worried but now am a little...let's cross our fingers that it gets better.

Hi Rachelle:
I just recieved an e-mail from Ana reguarding this. Here is a list that she sent me of the photographers allowed on the resort:

Juan Navarro: principal

Vallarta Adventures

Claudia Rodriguez

Not all of theses photographers are included in the packages though. The ones they use for the packages are:

Juan Navarro: principal
Daniela: Sweet Caribbean ? Wedding photo
Vallarta adventures:
Puerto Vallarta - Adventure Weddings Get married at LasCaletas, Mexico

So basically they don't include Claudia. If you want her website it is:
claudiaphoto.com . I chose Claudia, she is kinda expensive, but I wanted really good photos to remember my day by. If you choose Claudia Ana told me that they can't do anything different in the packages (no price reduction). Hope this helps!

She keeps telling me that I can have any photographer that I want but will have to pay for the guest pass. I have it in an email from her, but would encourage you to get something in writing too...just in case. You never know! I am having 2 photographers fly out from the states. I don't think they will be staying at the resort and so we would have to pay for their entrance fee. However, I worked something out with Ana. Since we will not be using their photographer, she said she would waive their entrance fee. I've opted for that instead of the extended videography. I figure, the ceremony is enough.

I'm not too worried about the service. I have been reading the reviews on Facebook and Tripadvisor daily and most people have raved about the service. I've only read a couple of negative reviews about the resort. There are always going to be exceptions at any resort. I'm sorry that you, Laura, did not get the service that others have been raving about! That is such a bunmer! But it doesn't worry me. What worries me about your review is the ceremony sites. I can't understand why when they are designing a new resort that they know will have hundreds of weddings a year, they can't create a separate secluded area off to the side for the ceremony. That really bums me out sad.gif

I will be there in 2.5 weeks and will take photos from all different angles. Hopefully they will have weddings there over Thanksgiving. I imagine they will.

I have also been reading about the lack of privacy in the rooms and that concerns me too. I hope that they will do something about it. I saw a post from Rod (on FB) at one time where he said they planned to fix that. But I don't when. I hope it is soon. Why would they design the bathrooms with such little privacy?!

Anyways, thanks Laura for your review.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
