Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies! I just came back from Riviera Maya from doing site inspections for the wedding. We are planning a wedding for August 6, 2010. I wasn't really happy with the resorts we went to, well except for one, I did like the Adventura Cove Palace...but it is pricey! My parents are travel agents and they told me to consider the new Dreams Riviera. I am so happy this thread was started! I emailed Claudia this past week in hopes to get some pics. It makes me feel better that others have picked this resort even with it still being constructed!

Thanks for the feedback from your parents suggestion about Dreams. From what I read they are a good resort chain and this new resort should meet and exceed all our expectations.

If you are on Facebook they have a Dreams Riviera Cancun page where they post pics on a weekly basis (every Tuesday) until it opens. There are lots of people asking questions about the resort and you may find some answers there.

We actually just sent in our payment via bank check. I just wanted to get it taken care of and cross that off of the list.
That is great you will be doing a site visit right after it opens. I wish we could too but we moved to Australia (from Vancouver Canada) for an undetermined length of time in March this year and will be here until at least May of 2010. May try to get my sister to go and check it out though. I hear they offer reduced rates for people doing a site visit. Did you get a discounted rate for the site visit?

No, I didn't get a special rate for doing a site visit. I hadn't heard about that. Where did you see that info? I think they are offering good deals though and we were able to book a plunge pool room. The airfare was more pricey because it is during Thanksgiving weekend. But the resort rates seemed pretty good.

A question for those that received their wedding contract. Obviously there is a spot to sign the contract but how did you get it back to Claudia (or the WC)?

Thanks!

Ha! No worries! I feel a little obsessive about EVERYTHING wedding related these days :)

I scanned it and emailed it back to my TA who has been working directly with the WC. I'm not sure how she got it to her. I would imagine she forwarded the email. Do you have access to a scanner? I would say that would be the easiest. Faxing to Mexico might get expensive...

Scanning is a good suggestion. Will do that tomorrow, even if I have to go to an internet cafe.

Do you have any info on the resort layout and the wedding/reception location options? That is going to be so fabulous that you will try out the plunge pool. Take loads of pictures! Everyone will be so excited to see them!

I do not have any info on the layout of the resort. I don't think anyone is sharing that info yet. I did get a list of the wedding and reception locations.

Wedding locations - I have heard that there will be a gazebo off to the side of the resort with the ocean as a backdrop. Then there is the option of the ceremony on the sand.

Reception locations - deck, beach, terrace, or ball room. There may be more options, but this is what I have heard about so far. I read on facebook that photos of the locations will be available in about 1 week. I'm excited about that!

Yes, I will take photos on my trip. Hopefully by then I will have earned enough points to post them on this website. I feel like anytime I try to do someting on here, it tells me that I don't have sufficient access. Either way, I will find out how to share the photos.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
