im having a small guest list prob 11 ppl....is the beach my only place for reception that has no min # of guest??

Well the pool deck requires a minimum of 60 guests unless you want to pay the difference. I think if you talk to your wedding planner, if you don't want the beach they may give you another option as the party is really small.

BTW, just emailed you the menu options. Let me know if you have questions.

I just had a look at this resort and it looks spectacular! Couple of questions to anyone that can answer:

The gazebo looks really cool - how private is it? Do you get gawkers?

How far is the resort to Playa del Carmen? Are there any really good bars close by, even if they're on the resort? Anything that has a good party! What about shopping?

Thanks!

The pool is next to the gazebo so it is not the most private location but for me it didn't bother me at all. I thought that it would but I was so focused on our own stuff that I didn't even notice until the next day or at Desires when people pointed out how much they loved the wedding ceremony and congratulated us.

Hi ladies. I was wondering if any has hired outside vendors? Florist, decorator, photog, videog, dj..... I contacted the wedding coordinator and she said they don't allow outside vendors. But for photog and videog we have to pay a fee. Is this true for everyone? I would really like to hire someone outside the resort. Please let me know if you are in the same boat and would advise. Thank you

Just got back from our wedding at Dreams and it was fantastic! We used the gazebo and then had our private beach party reception on South Beach. It was absolutely perfect in every way. They are fantastic and I had nothing to worry about.

How was the lighting for the beach.  Did you pay for lighting or let them do it? Thanks

The lighting was fine. I did pay for some extras like the tiki torches and lanterns. It was beautiful. I was worried it was going to be too dark but they made sure it was perfect. Even added under table lights. They also have bright spotlights that they use to light up the area. Definitely not something to worry about. :)

Thank you soo much! I have some lanterns, but don't think there is anything to string them up to. I'm wondering if I should just leave them home.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
